He is credited with founding Patagonia, Inc., a company which aims at protecting the environment. An adventurer, Yvon Chouinard is also fond of tenkara fly-fishing, surfing, and kayaking.

Patrick Bauchau is a Belgian actor who is etched in our memory as Scarpine, the murderous associate of the anti-hero in A View to a Kill. Born in Belgium and educated at Oxford, he can speak German, French, English, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Dutch, enabling him to successfully work in numerous films and television series on both sides of the Atlantic.

Best known for his iconic Ringworld series, science-fiction author Larry Niven has won multiple accolades, including the Hugo and Nebula awards. The grandson of oil magnate Edward L. Doheny, Niven had initially studied math but later devoted himself to writing. He has also penned scripts for sci-fi TV series.

Indian flutist Hariprasad Chaurasia, a major figure of Hindustani classical music, is known for taking the Indian bansuri to the international stage. Born in Allahabad, he hid his musical aspirations from his father, who wanted him to take up wrestling. He grew up to became a luminary of the Senia gharana.
