Alfred P. Sloan Biography

Alfred Pritchard Sloan Jr. was an American business executive and philanthropist, known for his notable contributions to automotive industry. He held various positions in, General Motors Corporation, such as, the chief executive officer, president, and chairman of the board for over several decades and he justified each one of the responsibilities through his sheer dedication and passion for his work. He was a man of remarkable character, responsible for implementing policies and practices that helped his organization emerge as one of the most successful American companies of the century. Excellence was imbibed in his personality since childhood; he was an extraordinary student in his early years of education and a talented trendsetter right from the start of his professional career. Some of his significant innovations included the four-wheel drive, crankcase ventilation and knee-action brakes.
