Toni Garrn Biography

Antonia Garrn, popularly known as Toni Garrn, was born on the 7 July 1992, to Peter Garrn and Anja Garrn, in Hamburg, Germany. Her mother, Anja, is an entrepreneur, while her father, Peter works, in the petroleum industry. She has a brother Niklas Garrn. Niklas also works in the fashion industry as a model.

She lived in London from the age two to six and moved to Athens after that. There she studied at the Campion School and started taking piano lessons. At the age of 10, Toni shifted to Hamburg along with her family.

Toni Garrn was discovered at the FIFA World Cup in 2006, in Hamburg, when she was 13 years old. She signed on with New York’s Women Management Agency.

Over the next two years she worked exclusively with Calvin Klein, and by the summer of 2009 Toni had started walking the ramp for designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney and Hermés.

She worked with magazines and even featured on the cover pages, like Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour (US), Elle (France, Italy, US), Vogue (US, Korea, Paris, Spain, Italy, Russia, China, Japan, Mexico and Germany). She has done print campaigns for multiple designers. She has also graced the covers of GQ, Allure, The Edit, W, Grazia, Madame Figaro and Numéro.

Toni’s resume includes brands like Zara, Hugo Boss, Juicy Couture, Ralph Lauren, Lancel, Seafolly, Peek & Cloppenburg, Neiman Marcus, Max Mara, Jill Stuart, Emporio Armani, Versace, Prada, CK, JOOP, Donna Karan New York, H&M, Tommy Hilfiger, Massimo Dutti, Ann Taylor, L’Oreal, Burberry, Mango, Fendi, Dior, J.Crew, Shiseido, Cartier Fragrance and Makeup for Givenchy.

She has worked with several A-listed photographers such as Paolo Roversi, Ellen von Unwerth, Miles Aldridge, Steven Meisel, Karl Lagerfeld, David Bellemere, Mert and Marcus, Corinne Day, Craig McDean, Mariano Vivanco, Manfred Baumann, Peter Lindbergh, Mario Testino, and Greg Kadel.

Toni Garrn started working with Victoria’s Secret in 2011, initially doing their print campaigns and following on with ramp shows in 2011, 2012, 2013 and in 2018.

After being featured alongside Angles Lindsay Ellingson and Erin Heatherton in the ‘Dream Angel’ campaign, Toni launched Victoria’s Secret fragrance ‘Love is Heavenly’ on 17 April 2012.

Issues like education of women, especially in the poorest of places, are very close to Toni’s heart. She designed her own line of denims in 2014 in collaboration with German brand ‘Closed’. All proceeds from this sale went to sponsore education for girls in Africa.

In 2014, she also joined Plan International’s global campaign ‘Because I Am a Girl’ as an ambassador, and hosted / co-hosted several events to generate funds for the cause.

She has worked in a few short films—Life+Times: Empire State of Mind (2011), The Shift (2016)—and films—Blade Runner Killer (2017), Head Full of Honey (2018), Berlin, I Love You (2019), Spider-Man Far From Home (2019) and Dreamland (2020).

She is represented by Women Management agency in Milan and Paris, by The Lions in LA and New York, by Storm Management in London and View Management agency in Barcelona.

Being an exclusive at Calvin Klein’s show in the young age of 15 years was a big break for Toni Garrn. Following the Spring/Summer 2008 ramp show, she also did print shoots for CK and was extensively featured in their advertisement campaigns.

In 2016, she started the Toni Garrn Foundation, which has a mission to raise money for empowering girls in Africa. She believes that a woman is the backbone of a family and she needs to be educated to take life decisions independently. She works extensively in getting flea markets, events and parties organized to generate revenue for her foundation.

Toni Garrn was the eighth ranked model of spring 2008.

She has been featured on the models.com list of Top 50 Models Women.

Toni Garrn has been in relationships with quite a few high-profile personalities. These include: Chandler Parsons, Alexande Skarsgård, Enrique Murciano and Leonardo DiCaprio.

She recently got married to Alex Pettyfer, a British model and actor, on October 2, 2020, in Berner Schloss palace in Hamburg. The couple was first seen together at Elton John’s Oscar party in February 2019, and have been dating since then. They were engaged on Christmas eve, and wrapped up their nuptials in a quaint ceremony with close friends and family members.

She has a tattoo on her right hand that says ‘patience’ in ancient Greek.
