Maxine Sneed is a former editor of ‘Black Radio Magazine and is better known as the former wife of noted Canadian–American actor, director, musician, writer, comedian, and cannabis rights activist Tommy Chong. Maxine came under the spotlight more for her association with Chong rather than her professional endeavors. She rose to fame after marrying the accomplished entertainment personality. They have two daughters, Rae Dawn Chong and Robbi Chong, both of whom have grown up to be fine actors. Reports suggest that Rae was born out of Tommy’s illicit relationship with an underage lady named Gail Toulson and that Tommy later won the legal custody battle of the child in favor of Maxine. Maxine attracted media attention again during her divorce. Several notable sources mention Tommy’s infidelity as the reason for the couple’s split. While Tommy moved on and married actor-producer Shelby Fiddis, Maxine is reportedly single. Following the divorce, Maxine has led a private life, away from the media. Not much is known about her professional life apart from her stint with ‘Black Radio Magazine.’ Some sources mention that she was associated with a corporate house as an editor, while according to other sources, Maxine has worked with some big corporate houses as a proofreader.

Rae, who was born on February 28, 1961, was unaware of her biological mother till she turned 12 years old. Rae, however, did not let the controversy surrounding her birth and parental custody affect her and has always credited Tommy and Maxine for raising her and her younger sister, Robbi, in a wonderful way. Rae has followed in the footsteps of her father into acting and is known for her performances in films such as ‘Quest for Fire,’ ‘Time Runner,’ ‘Commando,’ ‘The Color Purple,’ and ‘Beat Street.’ Maxine’s second daughter with Tommy and her only biological child, Robbi Lynn Chong, was born on May 28, 1965. Robbi is an actor and former model.
