Maggie McGuane is the daughter of Canadian-American actress and activist Margot Kidder. Maggie was born from Margot Kidder’s first marriage with novelist Thomas McGuane. Following in her father’s footsteps, Maggie McGuane went on to become a writer. She has also worked as a photographer, and modeled on a couple of occasions. Just like her mother, she too is a passionate activist. When Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast of the United States in 2005, Maggie was among the thick of things, helping the victims of the deadly ‘Category 5’ hurricane.

Maggie McGuane was born on October 28, 1976. She is the only child of actress Margot Kidder. After completing her formal education, Maggie expressed interest in writing, and her parents encouraged her to pursue a career in writing. At the same time, Maggie developed passion for photography, and she tried her hand at photography along with her writing stints. Being a multidimensional person Maggie also tried her hand at modeling, before settling down as an activist. In 2005, when Hurricane Katrina caused distress havoc in the United States Maggie McGuane helped many of them by being a part of many relief campaigns. She also works towards finding shelter for thousands of stray animals in Montana. She often posts pictures and video clips of herself saving stray dogs and other animals.

Marriages
Maggie McGuane married a novelist named Walter Kirn on August 26, 1995. She was just 19 years old at the time of her wedding, while Kirn was 32 years old. Despite being 13 years younger to Kirn, Maggie went ahead with the wedding as she was deeply in love with the novelist. The wedding took place in Melville, Montana. Since Maggie wanted her wedding to be old-fashioned, she chose a Lutheran church as her wedding venue, which was about 80 miles from the nearest airport, Bozeman. After their wedding, Maggie and Walter Kirn lived in Livingston until their marriage ended up in divorce. Maggie and Walter Kirn have two children: Charlie and Mazie Kirn.
After divorcing Walter Kirn, Maggie McGuane met a sound engineer and music producer named Chad Franscoviak. Maggie and Chad met in Livingston on July 4 during Independence Day celebrations. After dating for a few months, the couple decided to walk down the aisle. The wedding took place in 2013 at ‘Paradise Valley’ in Livingston, Montana. As a sound engineer and music producer, Chad has worked with many musicians across the United States. In fact, he had invited musicians Katy Perry and John Mayer to his wedding. Not only did they attend the wedding, but Katy and John even performed at the wedding along with a band named ‘Cold Hard Cash.’ While Maggie’s son Charlie was the best man, her daughter Mazie was the maid of honor.

Maggie McGuane currently lives in Livingston, Park County, Montana, along with her husband Chad Franscoviak. She continues to take part in various charity events and disaster relief campaigns. Over the years, Maggie McGuane has been instrumental in finding homes for thousands of stray dogs.
