Jaci Butler Biography

Jaci realized her love for music at a tender age. Soon after she began training in music, Jaci began participating in talent competitions and collaborated with local musicals. By the age of 12, she garnered substantial popularity. Jaci was scouted by industry executives and landed up with interviews with two major New York-based record labels. She bagged an offer to record two singles with one of Kelly Clarkson's producers in Los Angeles.

Jaci is a member of 'Jaci and Those Guys,' a Southern California rock cover band. She composes original music and performs covers with the group. Jaci often tours across the US and Canada, performing live. ‘Jaci and Those Guys’ won the 'Supernova Battle of the Bands' held in Dallas and ended up on the list of the top 10 finalists in the 'SchoolJam USA.' Within just 10 months of her debut, 'Jaci and Those Guys' won the first annual 'Texas Highschool Rock Off' at the 'House of Blues Dallas.’ Jaci's Song 'The Lonely Don't Lie’ won the first position in the 'Indie Pop’ genre on ‘OurStage.com.' She made her reality-show debut in 2016, with the 15th season of 'American Idol.' On May 25, 2018, she released the single 'Color Me You.'

Jaci launched her 'YouTube' channel on August 10, 2015, but posted the video 'IT - Rapid Fire Movie Review (Jaci Butler)' on September 14, 2017. The channel hosts a rapid-fire review series, where she reviews new movies and TV shows. Currently, her channel has over 94 thousand subscribers. Jaci has garnered massive popularity on 'TikTok.' She joined the app when it was called 'musical.ly.' She is now a "crowned" member, with nearly three million fans and 62 million “heart” emojis. However, on 'TikTok,' Jaci is known for her comedy videos. In addition to creating content for her social-media accounts, Jaci hosts a live-streaming participatory show called ‘Nerd.ly Trivia.' The show is syndicated worldwide on 'TikTok's' companion app, 'live.ly.' Jaci competed against Dalton Rapattoni, the composer of 'The Phantom of the Opera,' on ‘American Idol.’ She has also collaborated with social-media stars such as Enoch Rue, Victoria Mills, and Jason Coffee.

Jaci was born on March 18, 1996, in Texas, and grew up in Rowlett. She has no siblings. Jaci owns a Maltipoo named Diggle, who appeared alongside her on ‘American Idol.’ Jaci was homeschooled throughout high school, so that she could continue touring with her band. She has known her 'American Idol' rival Dalton since she was 11. Before the reality show, they have had another face-off during a battle of the bands, which Jaci won.

Jaci is often questioned about her hair. Many believe she wears a wig, a claim she denied in one of her Q&A videos. As green is her favorite color, she chose it as her hair color. It has now become her trademark. She started dying her hair in January 2015.
