Tucker Pillsbury, popularly known as Role Model, is an American pop singer and songwriter, who first came to limelight in 2017, with the release of his extended play Arizona in the Summer. In 2019, he also made his first performance at the Lollapalooza Music Festival. His lyrics usually delve into painful topics of depression, self-doubt, failed relationships, and loneliness. Role Model was born as Tucker Pillsbury in the United States, on 15th May 1997. Prior to his career as a singer, he wanted to pursue a career in movies, as a director and producer. However, while he was in college, at the end of his freshman year, he met two students who were recording themselves rapping. This eventually made him develop an interest in rapping and began searching YouTube tutorials on recording oneself.
His first extended play was released in November 2017, which was titled Arizona in the Summer`. The EP had four singles: I Don’t Rly Like You, Stolen Car, Super Model, and Never Give Up. Pillsbury has stated that he likes the idea of beauty in pain, and therefore, he likes to create happy-sounding songs, with a dark tone. His music has been inspired by depression, and he has made it a point to make the kids of his generation realize that it is all right to be emotional sometimes. He wants them to realize that its best to be honest with themselves.
He released a cover of Miley Cyrus’s single The Climb, as well as few more singles such Minimal and Stolen Car. However, despite his success at an early age, he is not planning much for his future yet. He made his first performance at the Lollapalooza Music Festival in 2019.
