Gabriel Aubry Biography

Gabriel Aubry was scouted in a nightclub while he was out partying during one of his skiing holidays in Quebec. There was no looking back for Gabriel as he went on to become one of the highest paid male models; working for brands like Next, Trussardi, DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger, Exte, Nautica, Joop, CK, Versace and Valentino.

He appeared on the cover page of L’Uomo Vogue becoming the first male model to have done that. In the same issue of the magazine, his photographs were already being featured in campaigns with four designers.

A major work in Gabriel’s career was the Macy’s commercial, in which he was featured in along with Donald Trump, Martha Stewart and Mariah Carey. It was a Calvin Klein exclusive released in 2008.

He is represented by talent agency Whilhelmina Models now known as Whilhelmina International Inc. in New York and by Beatrice Models agency in Italy.

Controversies have been a part of Gabriel Aubry’s life after his split with Halle Berry. The couple separated amicably, but got involved in a stretched out nasty custody battle, from 2010 to 2014 because of Halle’s wish to shift to France with Nahla. In 2014, the Los Angeles Superior Court ordered Halle Berry to pay child support of $16,000 per month to Gabriel Aubry until her daughter either graduates high school or turns 19. Halle Berry also had to pay retroactive payment of $115,000 and a sum of $300,000 for Aubry's attorney fees.

In 2012, Gabriel Aubry and Oliver Martinez, Halle’s then fiancé, got into a fight which resulted in both of them being admitted in the hospital.

In 2019, it was revealed that Halle had blamed Gabriel’s mental health for their break up. Documents that were written by her stated that Gabriel was involved in an incestuous relationship with a family member during his stay with foster families. It also alleged that Gabriel was racist and did not acknowledge their daughter as bi-racial. Halle had apparently also encouraged Gabriel to seek therapy and counselling to overcome his mental health issues.

Gabriel Aubry was born on 30 August 1976, in Quebec, Montreal. He was one of the nine children of a Canadian-French couple. Although he started living with his father Gerard after starting his modelling career, Gabriel had to spend 15 years of his childhood to teenage years in foster homes. He is said to have lived with five foster parents starting from when he was 3 years old till when he was 18 years old.

Gabriel Aubry met Halle Berry during a photo shoot they were doing for Versace and started dating in 2005. Seen together on many events, the couple welcomed their daughter in March 2008. But, the relationship hit a rocky patch and they separated in 2010.

His relationship with actress Halley Berry has been one of the mos- hot topics about him that keeps coming up on the media’s radar. Apart from this, he has been linked with Kim Kardashian as they were seen at a game together. He was also rumoured to be dating Charlize Theron, but, Charlize denied the rumours. Currently Gabriel Aubry is known to be single.
