Dana Alexa is an American dancer, choreographer, and trainer. She teaches dance at ‘IDA Hollywood’ in Los Angeles and also conducts classes and workshops all over the world. She has appeared in many television shows and has worked with world-renowned artists like Wiz Khalifa and Tyga. In 2016, she took part and emerged victorious in CBS’s reality television show ‘The Amazing Race.’ In 2018, she served as one of the judges for an Indian television reality series titled ‘High Fever: Dance Ka Naya Tevar.’ Dana has a huge fan following on social media. While her Instagram page has over 447,000 followers, her Twitter page has more than 74,000 followers. She also has a YouTube channel named ‘DanaAlexaDance,’ which has accumulated more than 319,000 subscribers.
Childhood & Early Life
Dana Alexa was born as Dana Borriello on December 26, 1989 in Brooklyn, New York City. Dana started dancing at a very young age. In fact, her mother Janet Ann Borriello enrolled her at a dance training class when she was just two years old. Gradually, Dana fell in love with dance and decided to pursue the art form as a career. Dana began training in various dance forms, such as hip hop, tap, ballet, jazz, and street jazz. She went on to train with some of the best instructors in her quest to become a successful dancer.

Dana started her dance career as one of the Knicks City Dancers at the ‘National Basketball Association’ (NBA). Her popularity increased when she became part of Kat DeLuna’s world promo tour, during which she danced with DeLuna. Dana then became the artistic director and choreographer for Kat DeLuna’s world tour for the album ‘Inside Out.’ She also choreographed two of DeLuna’s music videos, which catapulted her to fame. At this point in her career, Dana decided to move to Los Angeles in order to strengthen her dance career.
Dana Alexa landed more opportunities after relocating to Los Angeles. She started appearing in music videos featuring world-renowned artists like Wiz Khalifa and Tyga. She even started touring as an assistant choreographer to places like China, where she conducted workshops, choreographed a dance show, and performed in a national commercial. She was subsequently roped in to perform in a couple of other commercials, including for brands like ‘Lexus’ and ‘Skyy Vodka.’ She was also featured alongside actors like Donald Faison and Joey Lawrence as part of a ‘Pepsi’ commercial. In 2015, Dana assisted choreography for the opening song of the ‘Radio Disney Awards.’ In 2016, she was part of the choreography team that choreographed the opening song of the finale episode of the popular TV show ‘So You Think You Can Dance: POLAND.’
Dana has also choreographed for television series, such as ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ and ‘Watch What Happens Live.’ In 2016, she won the 28th season of CBS’s popular show ‘The Amazing Race.’ In 2018, she became part of the judging panel of an Indian dance reality television show titled ‘High Fever: Dance Ka Naya Tevar.’ Dana also teaches dance and conducts workshops all around the world. She has taught street jazz and hip hop to high school students, college students, semi-pro teams, and pro teams. She currently has a permanent teaching slot at ‘IDA Hollywood,’ a Los Angeles-based dance school.
Dana is engaged to her long-time boyfriend and fellow dance choreographer, Matt Steffanina. She is a passionate traveler and has been to 55 countries so far. Apart from dancing and traveling, Dana likes hiking, reading, and hanging around with friends. She also likes spending time with her parents, Carl and Janet Ann Borriello. She currently lives in Los Angeles and is being represented by ‘The Movement Talent Agency.’
