Alan Bersten is an American dancer known for emerging in the top 6 in the 10th season of the reality dance competition show, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. He is also known for appearing as a pro dancer on five seasons of the competition show, ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ A Minnesota native, Bersten began dancing when he was just seven years old. Growing up, he became proficient in jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, Bollywood and Broadway styles. Today, he is regarded to be one of the most talented young dancers in the country. He has also toured the world, performing on the stage at different venues and showcasing his skills in front of millions. Bersten has won the Youth Championship as well as the Under 21 National Titles. After a season of working together with his dance partner Alexis Ren on DWTS, he ended up losing his heart to Ren, who reciprocated his feelings. The couple is currently dating.
Alan Bersten began dancing at the age of seven. He soon started participating in competitions and won the Youth Championship as well as the Under 21 National Titles. He took part in the season 10 of the reality dance competition, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, eventually finishing in the top 6. While on the show, he left the audience awestruck with his blindfolded contemporary dance performance.
After the show, the American dancer toured across North America with his fellow dancers from the show and later embarked on their tour ‘Burn the Floor’. Once he was back, he was cast in a recurring role in the season six of the TV show, ‘Glee.’
Bersten has been on ABC's dance show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ for five seasons. He has even participated in a tour with the other members. During season 24, he was partnered with celebrity Heather Morris. He made his debut as a pro dancer on season 25 when he was partnered with popular singer/songwriter Debbie Gibson.

Surgery & Return to Dancing
In April 2018, Alan Bersten revealed that he needed surgical treatment for a tumor in his neck. In February that year, he had begun experiencing severe stomach pain following which he underwent a blood test and discovered that he had a serious condition called hyperparathyroidism that was caused by a tumor. Bersten underwent an operation and the doctors removed his left parathyroid gland. After recuperating for a while, the dancer returned to the DWTS stage.
Family & Personal Life
Alan Bersten was born on May 26, 1994 in Minnesota, USA. He has two siblings, including elder brother, Gene, who taught him dance. He attended Hopkins High School and later graduated from University of Minnesota.
Coming to his love life, Bersten has been associated with his pro partner and model, Alexis Ren, with whom he partnered on season 27 of DWTS. Alexis once affirmed that she loves Alan’s energy. Although she hesitated to talk about their romance rumors, she spilled the beans on the finale of DWTS after confessing that she has found love with Bersten on the show. She also stated that her connection with him is not only limited to the dance steps and moves but has also expanded to the heart.
Bersten was earlier rumored to be in a relationship with dancer and mixed martial artist Paige VanZant with whom he appeared on DWTS.
In May 2018, Alan Bersten supported fellow choreographer Gleb Savchenko’s suggestion of bringing gay couples in their show ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
He once accidently crashed his car into his home!
His dream dance partner is choreographer Chelsie Hightower.
His elder brother, Gene, also auditioned for ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ (Season 10).
