Carole King is an American singer-songwriter. As a songwriter, King has contributed immensely to the success of other singers and is widely regarded as one of the most successful female songwriters of the 20th century. In 2013, she became the first woman to be honored with the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.

Juliet Mills is a British-American actress who started her acting career as a child actress. The daughter of Mary Hayley Bell and Sir John Mills, Juliet Mills followed in the footsteps of her parents and established herself in the entertainment industry. In 1974, she received an Emmy Award for portraying Samantha Cady in an American television miniseries titled QB VII.

Tarita Teriipaia is a former French actress. She gained attention after marrying legendary American actor Marlon Brando with whom she worked in the 1962 epic historical drama film Mutiny on the Bounty, in which she played Princess Maimiti. Her portrayal of Maimiti earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Golden Globe Awards. 

Daniela Bianchi is an Italian actress known for her portrayal of Bond girl Tatiana Romanova in the popular spy film, From Russia with Love. After appearing in the second James Bond film, Bianchi landed roles in a number of Italian and French movies. Apart from acting, Daniela Bianchi also studied ballet and worked as a fashion model.

Canadian-American actor Barbara Parkins was a 60s’ icon and is best remembered as Betty Anderson from the series Peyton Place and Anne Welles from the film Valley of the Dolls. The Emmy-nominated actor is now a wildlife activist and a photographer. She has also appeared in Playboy magazine.

Lynne Cheney is an American scholar, author, and former talk-show host. The wife of the 46th vice-president of the US, Lynne served as the second lady of the US between 2001 and 2009. In the 2018 biographical satirical comedy-drama film Vice, which was about Dick Cheney, Lynne is portrayed as a source of inspiration behind the rise of her husband.

Flora Purim is a Brazilian singer best known for her contribution to the jazz fusion style. She achieved popularity when she contributed to the success of the popular American jazz fusion band, Return to Forever. Referred to as the Queen of Brazilian Jazz, Flora Purim has also performed with several other artistes like Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz, and Gil Evans.

Soviet ballet dancer Lyudmila Vlasova was raised singlehandedly by her mother, who was part of the Red Army Theater. Known for her long stint with the Bolshoi Theater, she was also praised for her performances with her partner and husband Alexander Godunov, a renowned ballet dancer himself.

American historian Joan Wallach Scott is best known for his work on French history and feminist theory. Initially an academic at institutes such as Northwestern University and Brown University, she later became the second female professor at the Institute for Advanced Study of Princeton University. Her works include Sex and Secularism.

British paleoanthropologist Meave Leakey discovered a new branch of the human species, the Kenyanthropus platyops, or the flat-faced man of Kenya. Initially a zoologist in Nairobi, she studied modern monkeys as part of her doctoral research. She is the first Kenyan to be a National Academy of Sciences member.

Navi Pillay is a South African jurist known for serving as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2008 to 2014. She is of Indian Tamil origin and was the first non-white woman judge of the High Court of South Africa. She has also served as the president of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
