She began her career in an interior design company and subsequently created her blog which was titled ‘Zoella’ which became really popular in the UK. Launched in 2009, the blog had over 540 million visits as of September 2015. This blog, which focused on fashion, beauty and lifestyle, expanded into a YouTube channel ‘zoella280390’ within months of the blog’s launch in 2009. The channel was a tremendous success which prompted Zoella to launch another channel known as ‘MoreZoella’, which showed what she did during the course of the day. This channel too proved to be an instantaneous hit and greatly increased Zoella’s fan following, particularly among the young population. In addition, she also began appearing with other YouTube stars as part of the show ‘Daily Mix’, which enabled her to rub shoulders with some of YouTube’s top celebrities. This was in fact the beginning of her collaboration with several other YouTube stars. By the end of 2015, her main YouTube channel had over 9.9 million subscribers and over 663 million video views; her second channel had over 3.4 million subscribers and over 290 million video views. She ventured into newer territories in 2014 when she signed a contract with Penguin books. Her first book was ‘Girl Online’, which became an immediate bestseller among the young audience. The novel featured an online blogger, widely believed to be Zoella herself, but she never explicitly made an admission that the book was based on her. The book broke the record for the highest ever first-week sales for a debut author since records began in 1998, selling a total of 78,109 copies. Following the success of this book, Zoella released a sequel called ‘Girl Online: On Tour’, which was released in 2015; a third book is in the pipeline. The talented girl has won a number of awards so far: Cosmopolitan Blog Award-Best Established Beauty Blog (2011), Cosmopolitan Blog Award-Best Beauty Vlogger (2012), and Teen Choice Award-Choice Webstar: Fashion/Beauty (2014 and 2015).

Zoella is more than just a pretty face and a popular YouTube celebrity. The sensitive young lady believes in giving back to the society and was named as one of the National Citizen Service's ambassadors in 2013, helping to promote the newly launched youth service. She also became the first "Digital Ambassador" for Mind, the mental health charity in 2014. The same year, she appeared on the single ‘Do They Know It's Christmas?’ as part of the Band Aid 30 charity supergroup. The song, which aimed at raising money for the Ebola virus epidemic in West Africa, debuted at #1 on the UK Official Singles Chart.

Having achieved so much within a young age doesn’t make Zoella complacent! In fact, she is always looking for newer opportunities and launched a range of beauty products under the brand name ‘Zoella Beauty’ in September 2014. Her “bath and beauty” range which includes ‘Tutti Fruity’ and ‘Sweet Inspirations’ is all the rage among teenagers and young ladies!
