Shura Baryshnikov is an American dancer, choreographer, and actress. She is the daughter of actress Jessica Lange and ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov. Trained in classical ballet as a kid, she grew up accompanying her mother to various filming locations. In high school, she ran track, played field hockey, and rode horses. Later, Baryshnikov majored in American studies from Marlboro College. A passionate and talented dancer from childhood, she spent most of her youth in tutus and pointe shoes. Today, she is considered one of the most renowned dancers in the country. While dancing is the biggest love of her life, she is a multitalented lady with varied interests across diverse fields. In addition to years of teaching dance at Brown University, she has also tried her hands at cooking, arts administration, and interior decoration. She has also acted in a few plays including Oscar Wilde’s ‘Salome’ at the Boston’s Bridge Repertory Theater. On a personal note, Baryshnikov is a very sweet and humble woman. She is very close to her family, especially her mother.
