Samantha Beckinsale is an English actor, best known for her performance as ‘Firefighter Kate Stevens’ in ‘ITV’s drama series ‘London’s Burning,’ which ran from 1986 to 2002. She started her acting career with the TV series ‘Agatha Christie's Poirot – The Adventure of Johnny Waverly’ in 1989. She is also known for playing ‘Lesley’ in the sitcom ‘Shelley’ from 1989 to 1992. She also appeared in an episode of ‘Thames Television’s ‘Never the Twain.’ One of her most notable roles was that of ‘Gillian’ in the 1994 sitcom ‘Time After Time. In 1997, she starred in another sitcom, ‘Get Well Soon.’ A year later, she appeared on the short-lived show ‘Duck Patrol.’ She has appeared in many TV shows, such as ‘Dangerfield’ (1999), ‘The Blind Date’ (2000), ‘Murder in Mind’ (2002), ‘Doctors’ (2004), ‘Holby City’ (2004), and ‘Heartbeat’ (2005). She made her debut film appearance in the TV film ‘Nancherrow’ in 1999. She also appeared in the TV film ‘Out of the Ashes’ (2001). She appeared in the films ‘Lighthouse Hill’ (2004), ‘Marian, Again’ (2005), and ‘The Penalty King’ (2006). Her last film appearance was in the 2014 historical drama ‘Katherine of Alexandria.’ She is also the half-sister of famous British actor Kate Beckinsale.

Samantha Jane Beckinsale was born on July 23, 1966, in London, England, to Richard Beckinsale and Margaret Bradley. Her father, Richard, was an English actor, best known for playing ‘Lennie Godber’ in the ‘BBC’ sitcom ‘Porridge’ and ‘Alan Moore’ in the British series ‘Rising Damp.’
Samantha was only 5 when her parents divorced. Following this, her father married English actor Judy Loe. Samantha is the half-sister of British actor Kate Beckinsale.
Samantha attended ‘Selston High School’ in Nottingham, UK.
She graduated from ‘Selston Arts and Community College’ and then attended ‘New College’ in Nottingham.

Samantha made her TV debut with the 1989 TV series ‘Agatha Christie's Poirot – The Adventure of Johnny Waverly.’ The series featured her as a barmaid and also starred David Suchet and Hugh Fraser.
The same year, she guest-starred in an episode of ‘Thames Television’s ‘Never the Twain.’ The series featured her as ‘WPC Martin.’
Shortly after ‘Never the Twain,’ she was offered the role of ‘Lesley’ in the final three series of ‘Thames Television’s ‘Shelley.’ The show ran from 1989 to 1992.
She bagged her most notable role in 1990. It was the role of ‘Firefighter Kate Stevens’ in ‘ITV’s drama series ‘London’s Burning.’ After ‘London’s Burning’ ended in 1992, she got an opportunity to work in the ‘BBC’ sitcom ‘Time After Time.
The series featured her as ‘Gillian’ and lasted from 1994 to 1995. In 1996, she appeared as ‘Pascal’ in an episode of the series ‘Bugs’ named ‘Blackout.’
