Tamzin Merchant is an English actress active in cinema, theater, and television. She was born in Sussex, England. She graduated from Homerton College, Cambridge, with a degree in education studies. Her first role on the big screen came in the 2005 romance film ‘Pride & Prejudice’, which was directed by Joe Wright. She played the supporting role of Georgiana Darcy. The film turned out to be a huge success commercially. It also went to the Oscars with four nominations. She has appeared in several TV shows, such as ‘The Tudors,’ a historical fiction TV series, where she played Catherine Howard in 2009 and 2010. She also had a main role in the American supernatural horror series ‘Salem’. She has appeared in plays like ‘The 24hr Plays’ and ‘Cigarettes and Chocolate’ as well. In 2011, she was seen in the romantic drama film ‘Jane Eyre’, which was directed by Cary Fukunaga. It was based on the 1847 novel of the same name by Charlotte Bronte.
