She began her career as a model, but Pia Mia was more than just a pretty face with a hot body. She was also blessed with a beautiful voice and was a musician too! Wanting to make a career for herself in 2013, she met Chris Brown’s manager, AbouThiam. At the same time, she was introduced to Nicholas Balding better known as ‘NicNac’, a rapper and producer, and immediately they got down to work. The same year she released an audio cover followed by a music video of Drake’s ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’, which received millions of views and went viral on social media. She released ‘Red Love’ from her debut EP ‘The Gift’. Once again she received splendid feedback from music lovers, the song found its way to the ‘iTunes’ playlist. After creating a stir with her music videos, she signed a contract with ‘Interscope Records’. She sang the title track of Sci-Fi movie ‘Divergent’ along with ‘Chance the Rapper’ which placed in spot 16 of the US Billboard 200. The next year she recorded almost a 100 songs for her debut album, with the lead single ‘Do It Again’ featuring Chris Brown and Tyga. The song reached top 8 on the UK Top 40 list followed by her second single ‘Touch’ also making it to the music charts.

She was born to Angela and Peter in Guam. Pia Mia has three siblings. She has a brother named after her father, Peter and two sisters, kandis and Paloma. All four siblings are close-knit since childhood. She is home schooled by her mother. Thus, when she was eleven, she began making cover songs and uploading it to her YouTube channel. She continues to upload covers and singles on her channel even today. She moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of a better career in music. Initially she struggled, especially with friends who didn’t care much to help her until she met Kylie Jenner and the two are now BFF’s. She dated a couple of boys before she began dating music producer, Nicholas or ‘NicNac’. At first the two were good friends who worked together until Nicholas asked her out after her 18th birthday. The couple have been in a relationship since 2014 and are going strong. Nicholas has been her support personally and professionally. Pia Mia claims that the two know each other so well that they hardly fight and share a healthy bond of friendship above all.
