Georgia Holt is an American singer-songwriter, model, and actress. She is the mother of actress and singer Cher. As an actress, she has contributed to a number of television projects including ‘The Mike Douglas Show,’ ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ ‘Sunday Morning,’ ‘I Love Lucy’ and ‘Watch the Birdie.’ Born to a young teenage mother, Holt lived back and forth between her separated parents. She attended about seventeen junior high schools. At the age of six, she performed on an Oklahoma City radio station and later sang with many renowned artists. She won several beauty competitions as a model. Holt has been married six times. She has two children, including Cher, through whom she has two grandchildren. The veteran actress was last seen on the screen in 2014 as a guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race’s episode "Queens of Talk". Currently, she is retired and enjoying her life as a grandmother. She celebrated her 90th birthday in 2016.

Georgia Holt’s first credited appearance on the big screen was in the 1950 comedy film ‘Watch the Birdie’. Five years later, she appeared in an episode of the TV series ‘The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet’. After this, she featured as a model in the sitcom ‘I Love Lucy’. In 1979, the actress appeared as herself in the daytime TV talk show ‘The Mike Douglas Show’. This was followed by her appearance in ‘The Merv Griffin Show’.
In 1987, Holt starred in the television movie ‘Superstars and Their Moms’; she also served as the co-executive producer of the TV film. Georgia Holt was born on June 9, 1926 in Kensett, Arkansas, USA, to Roy Crouch, a 21-year-old baker, and Lynda Inez Gulley, a teenager aged 13. Her father taught her how to sing and also encouraged her to play the guitar.
She married six men, two of them twice. Holt’s first husband was John Sarkisian whom she married in 1946 and later divorced and married again. The couple had one daughter, Cher. In 1948 and 1949, the actress was married to actor Chris Alcaide. She later married another actor named John Southall. The two lived together for four years and had a daughter, actress Georganne Elizabeth Southall (now Georganne LaPiere). Her fourth marriage was to Joseph Harper Collins, from 1957 to 1961. After divorcing Collins, Holt married bank manager Gilbert Hartmann LaPiere, who adopted her daughters, changing their last names to LaPiere. From 1970 to 1974, the actress was married to Hamilton T Holt.
Through Cher, she has two grandchildren, Elijah Blue Allman and Chaz Bono.
