Dania Ramirez is a Dominican-American actress, best known for playing Rosie Falta in the comedy-drama television series ‘Devious Maids.’ She won the ‘NAMIC Vision Award’ and received a couple of nominations at the ‘Imagen Awards’ for her performance in ‘Devious Maids.’ Ramirez has also played prominent roles in popular films like ‘X-Men: The Last Stand.’ She has appeared in the music videos of famous rappers like Jay-Z and LL Cool J. Childhood & Early Life
Dania Ramirez was born on November 8, 1979, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Agueda Camacho and Daniel Ramirez. She was raised by her grandmother as her parents immigrated to the United States of America when she was six months old.
Ramirez joined her parents in the US at the age of 10. She decided to become an actress early in her life. She would often imitate characters from ‘Telenovela’ in front of her family members. When she was 15 years old, she was spotted by a modeling scout in a convenience store where she was working. Subsequently, she landed a minor role in a soda commercial which encouraged her to move to New York City to pursue a career in acting.
After moving to New York City, she joined the ‘Actor’s Workshop’ and started learning the nuances of acting under the tutelage of Flo Greenberg. In 1997, she was cast as an extra in ‘HBO’ channel’s television film ‘Subway Stories.’ In 1998, she played rapper Jay Z’s girlfriend in a music video titled ‘Streets Is Watching.’ In the same year, she was also seen in another music video titled ‘Cheapskate’ by hip-hop group ‘Sporty Thievz.’
She joined ‘Montclair State University’ (MSU) in New Jersey where she became a star volleyball player for ‘MSU.’ She graduated from the university in 2001 and then moved to Los Angeles to make a career out of acting.

Ramirez was in a long-term relationship with director Jessy Terrero. She broke up with Terrero in 2008 and then started dating director John Beverly ‘Bev’ Land. She got engaged to Bev Land in September 2011. Their marriage took place on February 16, 2013, in a picturesque Punta Cana beach in the Dominican Republic.
Upon her marriage to John Beverly Land, Ramirez became Kai Miles Land’s stepmother. Kai Miles was born from Bev Land’s previous marriage with Sharon Leal. On July 15, 2013, it was announced that Ramirez was pregnant with twins. On December 17, 2013, Ramirez and Bev Land were blessed with fraternal twins – John Aether Ramirez Land and Gaia Jissel Ramirez Land.
