Lily Mo Sheen was born on January 31, 1999, in London, England, to Michael Sheen and Kate Beckinsale. Her parents met in early 1995 when they were cast in a touring production of Anton Chekhov’s play ‘The Seagull’. Beckinsale is an actress and former model. Originally from London, she made her screen debut in the 1993 cinematic adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’. In the ensuing years, she has established herself as a versatile actress, equally at ease in portraying comedy roles as she is in action films. She has delivered a number of dramatic performances as well. Her film credits include ‘Cold Comfort Farm’ (1995), ‘Pearl Harbor’ (2001), ‘Serendipity’ (2001), the Underworld film franchise, ‘Van Helsing’ (2004), ‘The Aviator’ (2004), ‘Click’ (2006), ‘Everybody’s Fine’ (2009), ‘Love & Friendship’ (2016), and ‘Farming’ (2018).
On the other hand, Michael is known for portraying nuanced, quirky characters, who are often relegated to supporting roles to more traditional protagonists. After making his big screen debut in a film adaptation of ‘Othello’ in 1995, Sheen gave memorable performances in films like ‘Wilde’ (1997), the Underworld franchise, ‘The Queen’ (2006), ‘Frost/Nixon’ (2008), ‘Midnight in Paris’ (2011), ‘The Gospel of Us’ (2012), and ‘Apostle’ (2018).
Not long after their meeting, Michael and Beckinsale started dating and moved in together. In 1997, they worked together on an audiobook production of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’. The couple never married but Beckinsale has stated that she felt as if they were. However, she also admitted that she felt embarrassed that Michael never asked her to marry him. Despite their split in 2003, the two actors are still close friends. In 2016, Beckinsale said in an interview that “He's really dear, close family. He's somebody I've known since I was 21 years old. I really love him a lot.” This has not changed over the years despite the fact that they went on to have relationships with different people. From 2004 to 2016, Beckinsale was married to Wiseman while Sheen dated Silverman from 2014 to 2017.
Lily Mo Sheen’s connection to acting is quite extensive. Beckinsale’s parents, Sheen’s maternal grandparents, were Richard Beckinsale and Judy Loe, who were also actors. Judy is known for playing Pamela in the ITV sitcom ‘Singles’. Sheen’s maternal step-aunt, Samantha Beckinsale, is also an actress. She has appeared in films like ‘Get Well Soon’ (1997) and ‘Nancherrow’ (1999).
