Marlene Mathews is an Australian retired track and field athlete who won bronze medals in the 100 meters and 200 meters events at the 1956 Summer Olympics. In the 1958 Commonwealth Games, she won two gold medals. Regarded as one of the greatest Australian sprinters, Marlene Mathews was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1985.
