Wyatt Russell is an American actor and a former professional ice hockey player. Although he was born into a family of famous actors, Russell was inclined toward hockey since childhood. He played professional ice hockey for many years, till an injury forced him to quit the game. He made appearances in movies, too, in his early years. After his exit from hockey, Russell concentrated on making a full-fledged career in acting. He has been part of several movies such as ‘22 Jump Street’ and ‘This Is 40.’ He has appeared in several TV series, too.

Wyatt Russell was born on July 10, 1986, in Los Angeles, California. His father, Kurt Russell, and his mother, Goldie Hawn, are renowned Hollywood actors. His grandfather, Bing Russell, was also a famous actor. He has two older siblings from his mother’s previous marriage to actor Bill Hudson: Oliver Hudson and Kate Hudson. Russell has another half-brother, Boston Russell, from his father’s previous marriage to actor Season Hubley. He is of Hungarian-Jewish, German, English, Scottish, and Irish descent.
As a youngster, Wyatt Russell was highly interested in sports. His father got him enrolled in hockey leagues, when he was only 4 years old. He attended the ‘University of Alabama.’ While in the university, he was a backup goalkeeper for their hockey team.

Career
Wyatt Russell played junior hockey for the ‘Chicago Steel’ in the ‘United States Hockey League.’ In 2005, Russell played as a backup goalkeeper for the ‘Chicago Steel.’ Later, he was traded to the ‘Brampton Capitals’ to play as their starting goaltender. In 2009, he started playing for the ‘Groningen Grizzlies’ in the Netherlands. He also played for several other teams, such as the ‘Richmond Sockeyes,’ the ‘Langley Hornets,’ and the ‘UAH Chargers.’ In 2010, Russell suffered hip injuries and had to quit hockey. Soon, he decided to pursue a full-time career in acting.
His movie career had begun in his childhood. In 1996, at the age of 10, Russell made his movie debut with ‘Escape from L.A.’ The movie featured him as an orphan boy. In 1998, he appeared as ‘Todd’ in the movie ‘Soldier,’ which had his father, Kurt Russell, in the lead role.
In 2010, Wyatt Russell played ‘Sam Loomis’ in an episode of the TV series ‘Law & Order: LA.’ In 2011, Russell played ‘Little Mickey’ in the science-fiction movie ‘Cowboys & Aliens.’ In 2012, he played a hockey player in the movie ‘This Is 40.’

In 2017, Russell starred in several other movies such as ‘Ingrid Goes West,’ ‘Table 19,’ and ‘Shimmer Lake.’ The same year, he played a prominent role in the movie ‘Goon: Last of the Enforcers.’ It was a sports comedy and featured Russell as ‘Anders Cain,’ the captain of a hockey team. Russell will be seen in the lead role in the upcoming TV series ‘Lodge 49,’ which is set to be telecast on ‘AMC.’

Wyatt Russell was married to stylist Sanne Hamers. They got married in 2014, after four years of courtship. However, just about a year after their marriage, they started living separately, and in 2017, they divorced. They have no children.
Currently, Russell is in a relationship with American actor Meredith Hagner. They met on the sets of the movie ‘Folk Hero & Funny Guy.’ They have reportedly purchased a home in Los Angeles, California.
