Vivan Bhatena is an Indian film and television actor. He began his career by acting in TV serials such as ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, and ‘Time Bomb 9/11’. He made his feature film debut in 2007, in the role of Abhimanyu Singh, vice-captain of the Indian national cricket team. The film, which starred popular Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, was a huge success critically and commercially. He continues to appear in several other successful films such as ‘Dangal’, a Hindi sports film, and ‘Raja The Great’, a Telugu action comedy film. Prior to his acting career, he was a model and had won the Mr India title in 2001. He has also been a contestant on the reality series ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’.

Career
Vivan Bhatena began his acting career in 2004 with a role in the Indian TV serial ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. The series which aired from 2000 to 2008, revolved around an ideal daughter-in-law, who is married to the grandson of Govardhan Virani, a wealthy business tycoon. He continued to appear in other TV shows such as ‘Kkehna Hai Kuch Mujhko’ in 2004 and 2005, ‘Time Bomb 9/11’, in 2005, and ‘Chhoona Hai Aasmaan’ in 2007 and 2008.
In 2007, he also made his film debut in the Hindi language sports film ‘Chak De! India’, which was directed by Shimit Amin. With popular actor Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, the film also starred other actors like Vidya Malvade, Shilpa Shukla and Sagarika Ghatge. Bhatena had a minor role of Abhimanyu Singh, who was Vice Captain of the Indian national cricket team. The film was a huge success commercially and critically.
In 2010, he was seen in the psychological thriller film ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’, in a minor role. The film was directed by Vijay Lalwani, and featured Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone in the main roles.
In 2012, he had the supporting role of Arman (Armaan)1 Kapoor in the psychological crime thriller ‘Talaash; The Answer Lies Within’. The film was directed by Reema Kagti and starred actors such as Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor in the main roles.
In 2015, he was seen in the romantic action film ‘Hero’, which was directed by Nikkhil Advani. It was a remake of a 1983 film of the same name, directed by Subhash Ghai. The film was a failure at the box office, and was also met with negative reviews. The same year, he was also seen in the romantic comedy drama film ‘Katti Batti’, which was also a box office failure.
In 2016, he played the supporting role of Harkinder in ‘Dangal’, a sports film. The film was directed by Nitesh Tiwari, and starred Aamir Khan in the lead role, who was also the producer. The film was loosely inspired by the life of Mahavir Singh, an Indian wrestler, who trains his daughters to become world-class female wrestlers. The film was a huge success commercially, and became the highest grossing Indian film ever. Made on a budget of just Rs 70 crores, the film managed to earn over Rs 2000 crores. It was also met with positive reviews.
He made his debut in Telugu cinema in 2017, with an important role in the Telugu action-comedy film ‘Raja the Great’. It was directed by Anil Ravipudi and it starred Ravi Teja in the lead role. The same year, he was also seen in the action comedy film ‘Judwaa 2’, which was directed by David Dhawan. Though the film was a success at the box office, it was met with mostly negative reviews. In 2019, he appeared in the horror film ‘Amavas’. It was directed by Bhushan Patel.
