Vicki Iovine, born as Vicki Ann McCarty, is an American author, model and lawyer. She is best recognized for authoring the extremely successful "Girlfriends' Guide" book series in which she published several titles pertaining to parenthood and pregnancy. The book series later on became the basis for the television show ‘Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce’. Iovine, who is a former TV producer and radio talk show host, had also modelled for Playboy magazine for their September 1979 issue. She has served at the board of directors of the Special Olympics as well. The American multi-talented brunette was also a participant on the U.S. game show ‘Wheel of Fortune’. In addition, Iovine has appeared on the film ‘Streets of Fire’ and the TV film ‘When Your Lover Leaves’. She has made guest appearances on episodes of the series ‘Knight Rider’ and ‘The Waltons’. Talking about Iovine’s awards and honors, she was once named the Florence Crittendon Woman of the Year for serving teenage mothers and girls with mental retardation.

Vicki Iovine has published many titles pertaining to pregnancy and parenthood in her "Girlfriends' Guide" book series. They include: ‘The Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy’, ‘The Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy Daily Diary’, ‘The Girlfriends' Guide to Surviving the First Year of Motherhood’, ‘The Girlfriends' Guide to Toddlers’, ‘The Girlfriends’ Guide to Getting your Groove Back’, ‘The Girlfriends‘ Guide to Baby Gear’ and ‘The Girlfriends' Guide to Parties and Playdates’. She has also released a handful of titles in her Best Friends' Guide book series which include ‘Best Friends' Guide to Surviving the First Year of Motherhood: Wise and Witty Advice’, and ‘The Best Friends' Guide to Getting Your Life Back’.
Iovine is a former member of board of directors of the Special Olympics. She had also hosted a radio talk show in the past. In 1979, she posed for the ‘Playboy’ magazine and became Playmate of the Month for its September issue. The following year, she appeared as the central character on the American TV panel show ‘To Tell the Truth’. In 1982, Iovine was one of the three finalists for the post of the hostess on the game show ‘Wheel of Fortune’.

Vicki Iovine was born as Vicki Ann McCarty on January 13, 1954 in Los Angeles, California, USA. She attended the University of California, Berkeley and received her undergraduate degree in journalism from there. She then obtained a law degree from the Hastings College of the Law. Later on, she earned an LL.B. in International Law from the Cambridge University. Talking about Iovine’s love life, she got married to record producer Jimmy Iovine in 1987. After having four kids, she got separated from him in 2009. The author cum model then went on to marry David Coiro in May 2014.
