Simon Lane Bio

Simon Lane is a British gaming expert and co-founder of the popular YouTube gaming channel Yogscast. He is also the co-host of a podcast called YoGPoD. Famous as Honeydew—his in-game name—Simon Lane is the creative director of Yogscast Ltd as well. His nickname Honeydew comes from the name of a scientist called Bunsen Honeydew in the TV show Muppets. Simon Lane began Yogscast in 2008 along with Lewis Brindley, who also co-hosts YoGPoD. When Lewis first met Simon while playing World of Warcraft, he knew Simon was funny, and wanted to introduce him to his friends in World of Warcraft. Soon, they started making videos together and found that a lot of people enjoyed watching their experiences in games. Their channel became even more popular when they started covering Minecraft. In March 2015, Simon Lane took a hiatus from Yogscast due to unspecified medical issues, which landed him in the hospital. Despite getting discharged from the hospital within a few weeks, Simon took off time from YouTube to fully recover, and finally returned to YouTube after six months in September 2015. He made a comeback with Trials of Skobbels Episode 1. Despite making several series on the main channel since then, his involvement with Yogscast projects started diminishing throughout 2016. He again went on another hiatus in March 2017 before returning to making YouTube videos. He also has a separate YouTube channel named Honeydew Live.
