Sierra McClain is an American actress best known for her works in films such as ‘Daddy’s Little Girls’ where she played a supporting role. Directed by Tyler Perry, the film was about a mechanic named Monty James, who is trying to gain custody of his daughters. The film didn’t perform well commercially. Also a musical artist, she is a member of the American girl group McClain, which also has her sisters China Anne McClain and Lauryn McClain. Their debut single ‘Go’ was released in 2012 and was met with positive reviews from critics. The band has also made appearances in a few albums such as ‘A.N.T. Farm’ which was released by Walt Disney Records. It stood at the 29th position on the US Billboard 200. Along with her sisters, Sierra sang the song ‘Rise’ for the Disney’s Friends for Change Campaign. It was used in the second ‘Disney’s Friends for Change Games’, as well as the end credits of the film ‘Chimpanzee’.

Sierra McClain made her acting debut in the 2005 film ‘The Gospel’. Directed and written by Rob Hardy, the film was released in the US on 7th October 2005. The film retells the Parable of the Prodigal Son in a modern context. The film did quite well commercially, earning nearly four times its budget. It grossed nearly $16 million on a budget of $4 million. The film starred actors such as Boris Kodjoe, Idris Elba and Clifton Powell. It was also nominated for three Black Reel Awards.
McClain next played a supporting role in the romantic drama film ‘Daddy’s Little Girls’ in 2007. Directed by Tyler Kerry, the film starred actors, such as Gabrielle Union, Idris Elba, Louis Gossett Jr., Tracee Ellis Ross and Terri J Vaughn. The film didn’t do very well commercially, and was also met with negative reviews.
Two years later, she played a minor role in the comedy drama film ‘Shrink’. Directed by Jonas Pate, the film tells the story of a psychiatrist who treats people from the entertainment industry. The film premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. It starred actors Kevin Spacey, Saffron Burrows, Robin Williams, Keke Palmer and Mark Webber.
She also had a role in the sitcom ‘Tyler Perry’s House of Payne’ which aired from 2007 to 2010.

Music Career
Along with her sisters China Anne McClain and Lauryn McClain, Sierra McClain formed the band ‘McClain’ in 2004. Their debut single ‘Go’ was released in 2012. The song was met with positive reviews. Their vocals and the unique lyrics were appreciated by the critics and the fans alike.
In 2014, they released another single ‘He Loves Me’.
They have also made appearances in several albums such as ‘A.N.T. Farm’, and ‘Disney Channel Holiday Playlist’.
