Mona Shourie Kapoor was the first wife of Boney Kapoor, a well-known Bollywood film producer. She was the daughter of film producer Sattee Shourie. Her husband is known for producing popular movies, such as ‘Mr. India’, ‘Humara Dil Aapke Paas Hain’, ‘No Entry’, ‘Wanted’ and ‘Tevar.’ As a part of the extensive Hindi film industry, she had served as the CEO of Future Studios, which is the largest indoor shooting studio in Mumbai. She had successfully handled the human resources for ‘Business Aids’ and ‘Machine Exports,’ in which she was a business partner. She was also the production co-coordinator of films such as ‘Sheesha’. Her marriage to Boney Kapoor was a troubled one. Notorious for being a womanizer, her husband married a second time while still being legally wed to Mona Shourie. According to some sources, Boney Kapoor and Mona divorced in 1996. In her later years, she suffered from cancer and passed away on 25 March 2012.

Mona Shourie was born on 3 February 1964 in Delhi, India. Her mother was Sattee Shourie, a popular film producer. She had one sister Archana, who later became a costume designer.

Career
Mona Shourie Kapoor was a multifaceted lady. She was the CEO of Future Studios, which is the largest indoor shooting studio in Mumbai. She also successfully handled the manpower for ‘Machine Exports’ and ‘Business Aids’, as a business partner. Kapoor was the production co-coordinator for films, such as ‘Sheesha,’ which starred the actors Mithun Chakraborty and Munmun Sen, and ‘Farishtey,’ which starred Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Sridevi and Rajnikanth.
In 2005, she served as a jury member of the Indian Telly Awards. She was also a producer of successful TV shows, such as ‘Hera Pheri,’ which aired on Star Plus, and ‘Wilayatee Babu,’ ‘Yug,’ and ‘Kaise Kahoon,’ all of which aired on Doordarshan. The most successful one of these was ‘Yug,’ which was about Indian Freedom Fighters and their struggle for freedom. The show was praised by both the viewers and the critics.
Marriage to Boney Kapoor
Mona Shourie got married to film producer Boney Kapoor in 1983. They had two children, Arjun and Anshula. In the mid-1990s, her husband began an extramarital affair with the upcoming actress, Sridevi, who fell pregnant as a result. He then married Sridevi in a simple ceremony despite being still legally married to Mona. It is not known for sure if Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie ever divorced. Even after her husband’s second marriage, Mona continued to live with her in-laws and her children.
Her son Arjun is a well-known actor, who made his debut in 2012 with the romantic thriller ‘Ishaqzaade’. His other works include ‘Aurangzeb’, ‘2 States’ and ‘Tevar’.
Mona Shourie Kapoor passed away on 25 March 2012 after fighting cancer for a long time. The immediate cause of her death was reported to be multiple organ failure. She died shortly before her son’s debut film released.
