Childhood & Early Life
Josh Duhamel was born Joshua David Duhamel in Minot in North Dakota of the United States on November 14, 1972.
His father is Larry Duhamel, a salesman who helps people with advertisements, and his mother is Bonny L. Kemper, a retired school teacher working as an Executive Director in the ‘Downtown Business & Profession Association’ in Minot.
He has three younger sisters - Mckenzee, Ashlee and Kassidy.
His father divorced his mother when he was in the fourth grade in school. He and his sisters continued to stay with their mother though he remained attached to his father also.
He had a passion for athletics while he was in school and college and became a quarterback for the ‘Minot State University’ team but he soon realized that he was not cut out to be a professional football player.
He chose to become a dentist and accordingly attended the ‘Minot State University’ and chose biology as the major subject. He dropped out of college just before completing his graduation. He completed his graduation from the university ten years later in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in biology. But he had to give up his dreams of becoming a dentist as his grades were not good enough for joining any dental college.
He was a good swimmer and worked as a lifeguard at a local swimming pool during his teens.

Josh Duhamel started his career by working for a construction company when he was twenty six years old.
While working in the construction company he got introduced to the entertainment industry by chance.
In 1995 he came to Los Angeles, California on the advice of a girlfriend to start a career in modeling.
In 2005 he wanted to become an entrepreneur and opened a restaurant with his friend at the address 10 North Main in Minto, North Dakota.
Soon his modeling experience helped him to land an acting job when he appeared for an audition. He passed the test and was given the lead role in the film ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ based on the novel written by Oscar Wilde.
Josh was selected by Executive Producer Steven Spielberg for the role of Captain William Lennox in the Sci-fi ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ directed by Michael Bay in 2007. He starred opposite Megan Fox and Shia La Beouf in the blockbuster.
His other films include ‘Life as We Know It’ opposite Katherine Heigl released in 2010 and ‘When in Rome’ also released in 2010.
He also acted in ‘The Romantics’ opposite Anna Paquin, Katie Holmes and in ‘Ramona and Beezus’.
In 2011 he appeared in the film ‘New Year’s Eve’ directed by Garry Marshall in which he has acted along with Robert De Niro, Halle Berry, Hillary Swank, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

He has also starred opposite Julianne Hough in the film ‘Safe Haven’ released in 2013 which has been directed by Lasse Hallstrom and is based on a very popular novel written by Nicholas Sparks.
Duhamel has also appeared in a film titled ‘Scenic Route’ released in 2013 which is about the story of two friends who get stranded in the middle of a desert.
His next appearance was in the film ‘You’re Not You’ in 2014 opposite Hillary Swank and Emmy Rossum and directed by George C. Wolfe.
In 2015 he appeared in the films ‘Lost in the Sun’ and ‘Bravetown’.
He has also acted with other stars like Hugh Jackman, Richard Gere, Emma Stone, Kate Winslet, Halle Berry in the film ‘Movie 43’ which was co-directed by Patrick Forsberg and Peter Farrelly.
His present films include ‘Beyond Deceit’ and ‘The Wrong Stuff’ and in 2016 he starred in the ‘Misconduct’.
In 2017 he appeared in ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ which is the fifth sequel to the ‘Transformers’ series in which he had acted in the first three sequels.
Josh Duhamel is also famous for his role of Danny McCoy in the crime television series ‘Las Vegas’ produced by NBC in 2003.
He lent his voice to a character on animation series ‘Fanboy & Chum Chum’ produced by Nickelodeon which won an ‘Emmy Award’.

His voice can also be heard in the animation series ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’.
He has also starred as Leo du Pres in various seasons of the soap ‘All My Children’ produced by ABC which ran for quite a long time. To continue with this series he turned down the role of Dusty Donovan for the film ‘As The World Turns’.
He was seen in the series ‘Battle Creek’ in the role of Milt Chamberlain directed by David Shore and Vince Gilligan and produced by CBS which ran for a very short duration.
In February 2016 he was seen in the mini-series on television titled ’11.22.63’ along with James Franco.
Awards & Achievements
Josh Duhamel won the ‘International Modeling and Talent Association’ award for ‘Male Model of the Year’ on 1997
He won three ‘Daytime Emmy’ nominations consecutively for his role in the series ‘All My Children’ produced by ABC and won the ‘Outstanding Supporting Actor’ award in 2003.
He won the title of one of the ‘50 Most Beautiful People in the World’ in 2004 awarded by an American magazine.
In 2012 he was inducted into the “Scandinavian-American Hall of Fame’.
Personal Life & Legacy
Josh Duhamel announced in January 2004 on ‘The View’ produced by ABC that he was engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Kristy Pierce but the engagement didn’t last long.
He got engaged to singer Stacy Ann Ferguson, known popularly as Fergie of ‘The Black Eyed Peas’ fame in December 2007 and married her on January 10, 2009 at a very private marriage ceremony held at ‘Church Estate Vineyards’ in Malibu in California. His marriage with Fergie went through a bad patch in 2009 but survived the jolt when a stripper accused Josh of cheating on Fergie.
They have one son named Axl Jack Duhamel. The family currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
