Jorge Blanco Guerena is a Mexican musician, singer, actor, and dancer. He is best known for his role of Leon Vargas in the Disney Channel TV series `Violetta`. Blanco was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, though he now lives in US. His career began at an early age when he took part in the reality show `High School Musical: La Selección.’ Though he was unable to win the series, the experience of participating helped him in establishing his future career. He went on to play himself the spin-off movie ‘High School Musical: El Desafio Mexico.’ His portrayal of a main role in the TV series ‘Violetta,’ which aired on the Disney Channel, added to his rising popularity. The series was a huge success and went on to win several awards and nominations over the years. In 2016, it was announced on his YouTube channel that he had signed with Hollywood Records.

Jorge Blanco began his career in 2007, when he took part in the reality TV show ‘High School Musical: La Selección.’ Even though he didn’t win the series, taking part in the program opened up new opportunities for him. He went on to act in the movie ‘High School Musical: El Desafio Mexico,’ where he played the best friend of the lead character.
His next appearance on TV was in a guest role in the miniseries ‘Highway: Rodando la Aventura.’ From 2011 to 2012, he played one of the main roles in the first season of the sitcom ‘Cuando toca la campana,’ which revolved around the adventures of a group of friends studying in a school. In 2011, he also took part in the ‘Disney’s Friends for Change Games,’ as part of the Yellow team.
In 2012, he started playing one of the main roles in the Argentine TV series ‘Violetta,’ a story of a musically inclined teenager, who returns to her hometown, Buenos Aires, after living in Europe for several years. Blanco played the role of Leon, a Mexican who comes from a wealthy family and never has to work for a living. His character is shown to be quite arrogant and full of himself. However, after falling in love with Violetta, he is inspired to become a better person. The series ended in 2015. It won many awards, such as the Kids Choice Awards Argentina and the Martin Fierro Award. A spin-off film named ‘Violetta: La emocion del concierto’ also came out in 2014. It was released on DVD as well as in cinemas. In 2016, a movie sequel to the series, titled ‘Tini: The Movie,’ was released. Blanco reprised his role of Leon.
In 2016, Blanco announced through his YouTube channel that he was working on his debut album and had signed a deal with Hollywood Records. He released his debut single ‘Risky Business’ in March 2017. He put out a few more singles in the ensuing months.
