Jazzy B, born as Jaswinder Singh Bains, is an Indian-born Punjabi singer, songwriter, and actor. He is well-known for his religious songs as well as his hip hop numbers. After moving to Canada with his family during his childhood, he grew up in the Punjabi community settled there. As a young boy, he developed a lot of interest in the western hip hop culture which he mixed with elements of Bhangra music to develop a unique sound of his own. After making his debut in the music industry with his album ‘Ghugian da Jorra’ in 1993, he went on to make 11 more studio albums. He has worked with several top music artists worldwide, including Sukshinder Shinda, Aman Hayer, Kuldip Manak, Babbu Maan, Snoop Dogg, and Mr. Capone-E. He has established himself as the ‘Crown Prince of Bhangra’ while also making a name for himself in the genre of religious music. The multiple-award-winner has also appeared in a few films including the likes of ‘Jatt & Juliet 2’, ‘Best of Luck’, and ‘Romeo Ranjha’.

Career
Jazzy B started his career with his signature style of Punjabi music mixed with elements of western hip hop. He released his debut album titled ‘Ghugian Da Jorra’ in 1993. The album contained eight tracks and was released under Moviebox (UK), Kiss Records, and SuperTone Melodies in different countries. Since then, he has released 11 more studio albums.
In the 1990s, he put out ‘The Canadian Spice’ in 1994, ‘Folk 'N Funky’ in 1995, ‘Folkal Attraction’ in 1997, and ‘All Eyez on Me’ in 1999. In the ensuing years, he released the albums ‘Stayin' Real Surma' in 2000, ‘Oh Kehri’ in 2001, ‘Tera Roop’ in 2002, ‘Romeo’ in 2004, ‘Rambo’ in 2008, ‘Maharajas’ in 2011, and the latest, ‘Folk N Funky 2’ in 2017 under Zee Music Company. Jazzy B has released two religious albums in his career: the first one ‘Singhan Di Kaum Bahadur’ was released back in 1999 while the other ‘Sikhi Khandiyon Tikhi’ was released in 2003. Both the albums had nine tracks each and were released under Music Waves Productions Ltd. Jazzy B has also delivered several popular songs in Indian films, including ‘Chuk De Punjabi’ in ‘Teesri Aankh: The Hidden Camera’, ‘Jugni’ in ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’, ‘Harry is not Brahmachari’ in ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’, and ‘Zalim Dilli (Feat: Hard Kaur)’ in ‘Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend’.
In his career so far, Jazzy B has been associated with several popular singers including Mr. Capone-E and Snoop Dogg. His collaborations with top producers and artists like Sukshinder Shinda, Bappi Lahiri, and Yo Yo Honey Singh have given the audience popular tracks like ‘The Holi War’, ‘This Party Gettin' Hot’, and ‘Satguru Mera’. Apart from being the king of Punjabi Bhangra music, Jazzy B has also worked in several films between 2000 and 2015. Some of his popular films include ‘Shaheed Udham Singh’ in 2000, ‘Teesri Aankh: The Hidden Camera’ in 2006, ‘Jatt & Juliet 2’ in 2013, ‘Best of Luck’ in 2013, ‘Romeo Ranjha’ in 2014, and ‘Double Di Trouble’ in 2014.

Jazz B was born in Nawanshahr, Punjab, on April 1, 1975. He has many siblings: Roma, Rimpy Bains, Gaba Bains, Goma, and Jujhar Singh Kandola. He married Hardeep Kaur and together they have a daughter and a son. He received twelve PTV Punjabi Music Awards and six Brit Asia TV Music Awards between 2011 and 2017.
