Jason Patric is an American television, film, and stage actor. He is known for appearing in the movies ‘The Lost Boys’, ‘Geronimo: An American Legend’, ‘Narc’ and ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’, to name a few. He is also known for playing Dr. Theo Yedlin in the series ‘Wayward Pines’. Born to Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and Academy Award-nominated actor Jason Miller and popular actress Linda Miller, Patric has been inclined towards acting since childhood. He followed in the footsteps of his parents as well as his grandfather, the legendary actor Jackie Gleason, and started appearing in plays during his high school years. Following graduation, he was eventually cast in a television drama. Since then, Patric has been entertaining his audiences with his brilliant acting. On the personal front, the actor has dated Danielle Schreiber in the past. The couple has a son, conceived through in vitro fertilization.

Childhood & Early Life
Jason Patric was born on June 17, 1966 in Queens, New York, USA to Jason Miller and Linda Miller. He is the half-brother of actor Joshua John Miller. He also has two full siblings: sister Jennifer and brother Jordan. His maternal grandfather was the comedian/actor Jackie Gleason.
Growing up in, New Jersey, he attended Cavallini Middle School and the Roman Catholic Don Bosco Preparatory High School. He later studied at Saint Monica Catholic High School in California. While in high school, Patric appeared in productions of ‘Dracula’ and ‘Grease.’

Career
Jason Patric began his professional acting career in 1985 with the TV movie ‘Toughlove’. A year later, he appeared in the sci-fi flick ‘Solarbabies’ alongside Jami Gertz, Peter DeLuise, James LeGros and Lukas Haas.
He reunited with Gertz for the horror comedy film ‘The Lost Boys’. In 1988, he starred as Konstantin Koverchenko in ‘The Beast’, a war film about the crew of a Soviet T-55 tank that vanishes during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
Patric next appeared in the short film ‘Teach 109’ in 1990. That year, he also featured as Kevin Collins in ‘After Dark, My Sweet’, a neo-noir movie based on the 1955 novel of the same name by Jim Thompson.
He starred as Jim Raynor with Jennifer Jason Leigh in the crime drama film ‘Rush’ in 1991. The film is about two cops (played by Patric and Leigh) who become drug addicts while investigating a case as undercover agents and use falsified evidence after failing to get the appropriate evidence.
In the ensuing years, the actor had appearances in both the small and the big screen, in projects including ‘Saturday Night Live’, ‘Sleepers’ and ‘Geronimo: An American Legend’.
He played Officer Alex Shaw in the thriller ‘Speed 2: Cruise Control’. The movie follows a couple, Alex (Patric) and Annie (Sandra Bullock), vacationing in the Caribbean on a cruise ship which gets hijacked by a villain named Geiger. The couple, along with the ship's first officer, try to save it after discovering that it is programmed to collapse.
In the early 2000s, Jason Patric got featured in the films ‘Narc’ and ‘Shortcut to Happiness’. His performance as an undercover narcotics executive in ‘Narc’ garnered excellent reviews.
The actor played Col. James Bowie in the war flick ‘The Alamo’ (2004), a plot based on the Battle of the Alamo. He next appeared in the comedy drama movie ‘Expired,’ alongside Samantha Morton, Teri Garr and Illeana Douglas. His performance earned him the "Best Actor" award at the 2007 Stockholm International Film Festival.
Jason Patric had a guest appearance in an episode of ‘Entourage’ in 2008. In 2010, he appeared in the action flick ‘The Losers’. Three years later, he starred as Detective Klein in Brian A. Miller’s action crime drama, ‘The Outsider.’
In the year 2014, he had a role in the western film ‘Rise of the Lonestar Ranger’ as well as in the gangster thriller movie ‘The Prince’. Two years later, Patric played Dr. Theo Yedlin in the television series ‘Wayward Pines’ and also featured in the direct-to-video ‘Home Invasion’.
He appeared in ‘The Yellow Birds’ as Capt. Anderson in 2017. Based on the novel of the same name by Kevin Powers, the war film, directed by Alexandre Moors, also stars Tye Sheridan, Toni Collette, Alden Ehrenreich, Jennifer Aniston and Jack Huston.

In 1998, Jason Patric played the role of Cary in the black comedy film ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’. His performance in the movie earned him the Las Vegas Film Critics Society Award for "Best Supporting Actor" along with a Satellite Award nomination.
Family & Personal Life
Jason Patric has dated actress Julia Roberts in the past. After the breakup, he was in an off-and-on relationship with Danielle Schreiber for about ten years. During the relationship, the two conceived a son via in vitro fertilization.
Following their separation in 2012, they entered a legal battle regarding the custody of their son. Although Patric initially lost the case in a trial court, he was later given parental rights in 2014.
