John Ortiz Biography

John Ortiz is an American actor best known for playing the role of Arturo Braga in the movies ‘Fast & Furious’ and ‘Fast & Furious 6’ and of Clyde in the flick ‘Jack Goes Boating’. His other film projects include ‘American Gangster’, ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, ‘Kong: Skull Island’ and ‘Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem’. On television, Ortiz is known for appearing as Nelson 'Margarita' Marquez in the series ‘Lush Life’, as Ruben Somarriba in the series ‘The Job’ and as Carlos Tavares in the drama ‘Clubhouse’. He has also appeared in several other dramas including 'Law & Order', 'Touched by an Angel', 'El Cantante', 'Luck', 'Togetherness,' and 'The Guest Book'. The American artiste also served as the executive producer for the flick ‘Jack Goes Boating’ in which he played a major role as well. He is also the co-founder/ artistic director of LAByrinth Theater Company. Talking about Ortiz’s awards and honors, he won the ‘Independent Spirit Award’ for the Best Supporting Actor for his performance in ‘Jack Goes Boating.’ He earned a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for his role in ‘American Gangster.’
