Ireland was born Ireland Eliesse Baldwin in Los Angeles, California on October 23, 1995. Her mother Kim Basinger and father Alec Baldwin are both major stars in Hollywood.
She has three half-siblings from her father’s second marriage to Hilaria Baldwin; half-brothers, Rafael and Leonardo, and a half-sister, Carmen. She is also the cousin of Hollywood actress Hailey Baldwin. Her uncles, Stephen, Daniel, and William Baldwin, are also actors.
She is of French, Scottish, German, English and Irish ancestry.
Growing up, Ireland was often ridiculed for being taller than the other girls. She had low self-esteem and also battled with eating disorders as a result of all the negative attention.

Career
Ireland garnered media attention in 2007, when her father, Alec Baldwin’s angry voice message to her became public. During 2008 to 2012, she made small appearances in a number of shows including 'Access Hollywood' and 'Good Morning America'.
In 2013, she signed with IMG Models and debuted with a swimwear editorial for New York Post. Her tall yet graceful frame and brown hair launched her to success in modeling. She appeared in prominent magazines like ‘Elle’, and ‘DuJour’. She was also named Vanity Fair’s ‘It Girl’. In the same year, she made her acting debut with the movie ‘Grudge Match’ where she played the younger version of her mother Kim Basinger’s character, Sally.
In 2014, she appeared in a television movie titled ‘Dream Corp LLC’. She was also present at the MTV VMAs with her then girlfriend, Angel Haze. During the same year, she appeared on E! News.
In 2015, Ireland had her Instagram account shut mainly because her posts were against the ‘no nudity’ clause of the website. This created a major scandal with her fans and the media. The father-daughter duo has moved on since and are reportedly closer than ever. Ireland also got her father’s nickname for her, ‘squirrel’, tattooed in French on her wrist. The incident was brought up at a celebrity roast recently where Ireland mocked her father in good spirit. She is also very close to her mother, Kim Basinger.
Ireland has dated photographer Slater Trout but came into spotlight for attending the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards with her girlfriend, Angel Haze, who is a rapper. Her father took time to come to terms with his daughter’s sexuality and initially didn’t approve of it. In an interview with Amy Schumer, Alec Baldwin stated that he would prefer to be with a woman he hated than sleep with someone of the same sex. This comment invited a lot of criticism from activists. He eventually stated he supports Ireland no matter what.

Ireland and rapper Angel Haze dated for around a year. The couple broke up in 2015, and a magazine reportedly quoted Angel Haze stating that the pressure of being an interracial gay couple took a toll on their relationship. Ireland took to Twitter claiming they had made no such statement and that their words were twisted.

Ireland was romantically linked with professional surfer Noah Schweizer. In December 2022, Ireland announced that she was expecting her first child, a daughter, with pop singer and musician Andre Allen Anjos.
