Her father is an esteemed TV producer, best known as one of the creators of the famous series ‘Scrubs.’ Her mother is a TV actor known for her roles in series such as ‘The Drew Carey Show’ and ‘Scrubs.’
This early exposure to the entertainment industry had Charlotte getting impacted by music when she was still a toddler. When she was 5 years old, she enrolled into piano classes and also learned to play the guitar on her own. Her mother’s taste in music influenced little Charlotte into considering music as her favorite leisure activity.
By the time she turned 10, she was already writing poetry. She then came in touch with a music producer, who was her mother’s friend. He recorded a cover of the song ‘Skinny Love’ in Charlotte’s presence. She became further mesmerized by the entire process. She wrote and recorded her first song, ‘Your Love,’ when she was 11 years old and also shot a music video for it.
She was 12 years old when she got her first manager. In order to polish her, he made her sit with several musicians and songwriters. This helped her learn the basic techniques. Charlotte then started writing her own songs more regularly, and by the time she was 14 years old, she had started writing songs seriously.
She also managed her studies while she geared up for a career in music. She graduated from ‘Marymount High School’ in Los Angeles. In order to maintain her fitness to pursue a career in modeling, she has played as part of her school’s volleyball and basketball teams.

Career
Before plunging into a full-time career in music, she had already started her modeling career at 14. As a teenage model, she has done print shoots for many cosmetic and apparel brands.
Her modeling career peaked when she got signed with ‘IMG Models,’ one of the best American modeling agencies. She has appeared on the covers of magazines such as ‘Teen Vogue’ and ‘Harper’s Bazaar.’
She started her music career around the same time. In 2014, she released her debut single, ‘The Finish Line,’ which was released independently on her social-media platforms. By then, she had already gained a large fan following on social media, owing to her success as a model.
She was just 14 years old when she made her music debut. Soon, she released songs such as ‘Ever After’ and ‘You’re the One That I Want.’ The latter was a cover of an original song by ‘Grease.’ The song became viral, and Charlotte was not considered just a “pretty model” anymore. She was beginning to be identified for her music, too.
Following the success of ‘You’re the One That I Want,’ she released two singles, ‘Seventeen’ and ‘Sleep Talking.’ With every song, she was gaining more attention.
What further helped her career was her performance with the ‘Dixie Chicks’ at the ‘Hollywood Bowl’ in 2016. She was invited by Natalie Maines herself to perform with the band.
In 2018, she released a single titled ‘Psychopath,’ collaborating with artists such as Nina Nesbitt and Sasha Sloan. She then appeared in another single, titled ‘Keep Me Up.’
She was eventually signed by the label ‘Human Re Sources’ in 2017. With them, she started planning her debut EP, ‘Young,’ in 2018. The EP received good reviews. Owing to the fact that Charlotte already had a steady and ever-growing fan base, the album became a significant commercial success.

Family & Personal Life
As opposed to her on-stage persona, Charlotte Lawrence feels she is just like any normal girl. She writes songs about her personally felt emotions, such as heartbreaks, broken friendships, and her mental issues.
She suffers from anxiety issues. She once said that every time she is backstage, waiting to go in front of the audience, she gets terribly anxious. She has, however, managed her anxiety and panic disorder by talking about it and sharing it with her family and friends. She also urges her fans to do so.
Since early 2019, she has been in a relationship with American singer Charlie Puth. Although neither of them has made their relationship official, they often tease their fans via their social-media accounts.
Contrary to popular belief, Charlotte does not lead a high-profile life when she is free. She likes watching movies and sleeping in her leisure time.
