Ice Poseidon Bio

Paul Denino started playing online games as a young boy. When he joined the fantasy online game community ‘RuneScape’, he adopted the pseudonym ‘Ice Poseidon’ which was generated randomly. Since then, he has been using the pseudonym as his online identity. He started his IRL streaming by playing ‘Pokémon Go’ and later moved to Twitch when they introduced their concept of IRL. He went on to become a very popular star on Twitch and accumulated around 300k followers on the platform at one point.

Once, Denino was using his Twitch account and broadcasting from the airport in Phoenix before leaving for a trip. An unknown follower of his account made a crank call to the authorities, falsely claiming that Denino was carrying a bomb. This incident turned out ugly for Denino as he was removed from the flight and the resulting ‘swatting’ also ended his association with Twitch. Twitch always encourages its streamers to share their real-life experiences but sharing their live location can make these popular streamers vulnerable to these types of hoax calls. Denino was banned from Twitch after this swatting incident even though he was not at fault.

After leaving Twitch, Denino became more active on YouTube where he already had a channel under the name of ‘Ice Poseidon’. Interestingly, his switch to YouTube didn’t result in the loss of his fan base. Along with him, his devoted group of fans also transitioned to the video sharing platform and began subscribing to his YouTube channel even though YouTube is not the most popular platform for streaming. He has over 730 thousand followers on his channel as of December 2018. On YouTube, he shares his IRL streams using a mobile broadcasting rig. His streams are very popular due to his unique sense of humor and his interactive style. Initially, he used to share his live location so that his viewers could meet him in person. However, this also led to several incidents of people misusing the location information to make crank calls to nearby stores and property owners. This harassment went overboard at times and it started a debate among the streamers regarding how much information they should make available to the public.

Paul Denino was born in Stuart, Florida, on September 29, 1994, to Michael Denino and Enza Denino. He initially planned to major in finance but later changed his mind and decided to focus on his career as a social media influencer. Besides YouTube, he is also active on various other social media platforms. He interacts with his followers regularly and has a decent fan following on Twitter.
