PontiacMadeDDG was born as Darryl Granberry on October 10, 1997, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Tonya Yvette and Darryl. His mother works in retail while his father works in the automotive industry. He endured a difficult childhood as his family lived in a crime-ridden area notorious for gang violence. He has a younger sister named Tiara. He also had a brother who was killed during a shooting in 2014; this tragedy left a profound impact on the young boy’s personality. PontiacMadeDDG graduated from the International Technology Academy. He has also briefly attended the Central Michigan University. 

PontiacMadeDDG began dating YouTuber Kennedy Cymone in 2017 and proposed to her in April 2018. Their engagement was short-lived, and they parted ways in the summer of that year. He later became romantically involved with Halle Bailey, and in late 2023, the couple welcomed their first child, Halo Bailey, sharing the news in a surprise Instagram post. In October 2024, they announced their separation.
