Rise to Stardom
Demi Burnett first gained popularity as a contestant on the 23rd season of 'The Bachelor' that premiered on January 7, 2019 and featured 26-year-old Colton Underwood as the titular bachelor. She was one of 30 contestants when the show started airing. She was the most outspoken woman on the season, and during her time on the show, she never lost an opportunity to spend as much time with Colton as possible, which often created issues with the other contestants.
Throughout the show, the bold and sassy Demi Burnett kept the audience buzzing by making waves on almost each episode she appeared. In fact, it seemed like an anticlimax when she was evicted from the show on Week 6 after Colton rejected her in Vietnam. Nevertheless, her fans were certain that she was in for a long run, which was confirmed when it was announced that she would return for the 6th season of 'Bachelor in Paradise' in August 2019. What is more is that she became the center of attention after a new trailer for the upcoming season was released in late July teasing a romance between Burnett and another woman. It left the tabloids and news publications in frenzy as this would make her one half of the first same-sex couple in the dating show's history. However, she did not let the suspense linger for long, and quickly tweeted the message to her fans on social media: "Spoiler alert: I’m a queer queen".

Controversies & Scandals
Demi Burnett, who is never shy to draw attention to herself, has courted controversy ever since she was announced to be a contestant on 'The Bachelor'. While her ABC bio mentioned that she worked as an interior designer, news outlets found no evidence to support the fact from her social media profiles. Instead, her ExploreTalent profile reported her interest in being cast in music videos, films, commercials, and TV shows, specifically mentioning reality shows.
As the show started, she created new controversies on each episode, whether due to her attitude, her constant feuds with other contestants like Courtney Curtis, or things like making ageist remarks about the 'cougars' of the house and using tricks to cheat on a 'survivalist' challenge. The last one earned her a bad reputation and comparisons with Corinne, the 'villain' on a previous season featuring Nick Viall. After the show ended, she defended herself in an interview with 'Vulture' saying that she never hid the fact that she loves getting attention, and added that nobody went on the show "for the right reasons".
After it was revealed that she had a girlfriend before the series 'Bachelor in Paradise' started, its Season 2 veteran Tanner Tolbert compared her to Jed Wyatt, who also had a girlfriend before appearing on the show. However, she has always been honest about her sexuality and opened up about being bisexual within the first week of filming and later revealed it to some cast-mates as well. During the premiere episode, she revealed casually dating a woman and explained that she came on the show because she wanted clarity about what she wants in a relationship. While some felt particularly bad for Derek Peth, with whom she spent a lot of time in Mexico, Peth himself lauded her for being honest.
Family & Personal Life
Demi Burnett was born on February 21, 1995 in Dallas, Texas, United States, and grew up in the rural town of Red Oak, Texas. She describes herself as a "super bubbly, outgoing, sassy, country girl." Her favorite hobbies are ATVing and fishing, and she can also drive a stick shift. She attended Texas State University, where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
Her mother, Tina Jean Jordan, was in federal prison when she was filming for 'The Bachelor', which she later revealed during the premiere of the show. Tina was sentenced to 18 months in prison for conspiracy to commit bank fraud and began to serve her sentence in July 2017.
