Christine Lauren Sydelko is an American YouTube star and a social media personality. On social media, she started off with a Vine account and gained a substantial following. She had garnered 500k followers by the time the app was shut down. She is quite popular on Instagram as well, with more than 1 million followers. She is equally popular on Twitter too. Christine rose to fame after she collaborated with fellow comedian Elijah Daniel and created the popular YouTube channel called ‘Elijah & Christine.’ She also has her personal self-titled vlogging channel, which has earned an impressive number of subscribers. The comedian likes to wear a signature ensemble, which includes a t-shirt with the slogan ‘Don’t Mess With Texas’, a windbreaker, a pink headband, and green crocs or Birkenstock shoes. Christine Sydelko first rose to fame on the social media platform Vine after her short video titled ‘Bible Studies’ went viral. Her initial username on the platform was ‘PotatoWithAnE’, but when her account was hacked, she changed it to ‘NotChristineSydelko’. In August 2015, she changed it again to ‘Csydelko’. She had worked with Vine stars Tom Harlock and Erin Gilfoy.
She created her YouTube channel ‘Christine Sydelko’ on July 9, 2015. It has amassed 1.3 million subscribers and over 100 million views as of December 2018. In 2015, Christine and fellow comedian Elijah Daniel started a YouTube vlogging channel together. Their crazy channel was named ‘Elijah & Christine.’ The channel reached over 1 million subscribers. In 2016, they uploaded a video announcing that they got engaged and would get married in 2017. Later, they revealed that it was a joke as Elijah is gay and Christine is asexual. In January 2017, they released a video which was a parody of the song ‘Closer’ by The Chainsmokers. The video went viral. Their parody of ‘The Maury Show,’ which featured fellow YouTuber Tana Mongeau, also became very popular. Elijah and Christine starred in Julien Solomita's short film ‘Eat, Clay, Love’. They jointly won the Shorty Award in 2017 for the Best Comedian. They had also started a merchandise line called ‘the@pack’. Unfortunately, they started having differences and announced their professional split in January 2018. Christine has accused Elijah of “acting like a martyr” and of failing to fulfil his responsibilities in a case of undelivered merchandise.

She studied digital media and cinema at DePaul University for a while, but in 2015, she dropped out to move to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a career in comedy. She has two elder brothers. Her mom, Pam Sydelko, who worked as a scientist all her life, now runs her own consulting firm. She is also a good photographer and writes poetry.
Christine is usually unaffected by any negative criticism but she revealed that she is abused daily on social media for being overweight and that it almost ruined her life. She stated that online bullying has become a common occurrence as people can hide behind an anonymous profile and write anything they wish. This is even leading to suicides by teenagers. She took to Twitter and said that she was also affected and wanted to hide herself from the whole world. However, she eventually realized that hiding was not the right solution. Christine has now started an online battle to protect others from the negative effects of social media bullying.
