Beau Mirchoff is a Canadian-American actor best recognized for his portrayal of Matty McKibben in MTV’s teen comedy drama ‘Awkward’. On the big screen, he has starred in the films 'The Grudge 3', 'I Am Number Four', 'The Secret Lives of Dorks' and 'Poker Night'. Born in Seattle, Washington, as the middle child to a podiatrist and a full-time homemaker, Mirchoff doesn’t have a family legacy in acting. However, he developed an interest in acting as a little boy and began his career at the age of 13, with a small role in the sitcom 'Romeo’. His passion towards acting and his determination to pursue an acting career soon landed him roles in films. Since 2006, Mirchoff has been acting in movies, TV shows, and television films. On a personal note, he is an avid fan of Seattle Seahawks. A graduate of Mount Douglas Secondary School, the actor is in a relationship with actress cum dancer Jeanine Mason.

Career
Beau Mirchoff made his acting debut in 2003 with a guest role in the sitcom 'Romeo’. Three years later, he made his film debut with the horror comedy and fourth installment of the ‘Scary Movie’ franchise, titled ‘Scary Movie 4’. From 2007 to 2008, he played Benjamine Stillman in the Canadian family drama ‘Heartland’. During this time, the actor also had an uncredited appearance in the romantic drama flick ‘In the Land of Women’. A supporting role in the TV series ‘Desperate Housewives’ followed in 2009-10. In 2009, he starred as Andy in ‘The Grudge 3’, a supernatural horror flick and the final installment in ‘The Grudge’ trilogy.
The year 2011 saw a drastic boost in Mirchoff’s career when he began playing the role of Matty McKibben in MTV’s teen comedy drama series ‘Awkward’. His performance in the drama earned him a Teen Choice Award. Two years later, the actor featured in the television film ‘The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex’ and in Salomé Breziner’s comedy movie ‘The Secret Lives of Dorks’. Following an appearance in the crime thriller ‘Poker Night’, Mirchoff starred in the TV film 'The murder pact,' which released in 2015. Also that year, he had a recurring role in three episodes of the TV series ‘Aquarius’.
His projects for 2017 included a television film titled ‘Party Boat’ and the sci-fi psychological horror movie ‘Flatliners’. The latter was a moderate box office success, earning $45.2 million worldwide against its $19 million budget. These were followed by the recurring role of Jamie Hunter in the family drama ‘The Fosters’.
In 2019, the actor tasted further success when he began reprising his role as Jamie Hunter in the spin-off series of ‘The Fosters,’ titled ‘Good Trouble.’ He also starred as Ford Halstead in Starz’s comedy television series ‘Now Apocalypse’.
