Ashley Costello Biography

Ashley Costello is one of the most prominent rock singers of the American music industry. Lead vocalist of the New Years Day rock band, she is the driving force behind the band’s international success. Starting it off casually, Costello together with Lohrbach and Drover worked on a few songs. Christening themselves as New Years Day band, the group started promoting themselves on social networking site, MySpace and soon started gaining prominence. The band also featured on the MySpace Records, Volume 1 compilation CD and on the video game soundtrack for Saints Row. Subsequently, they signed a deal with TVT Records and released their first self-titled EP, ‘Razor’ in 2006. The EP was primarily marketed as a digital release accessible through downloading services, although CD hard copies were also sold to fans at live shows.

Following positive reception, Ashley Costello and the band released several studio albums including ‘My Dear’ and ‘Victim to Villain’. Apart from releasing albums, the band also performed in several tours. To start with, they were a prominent member of the 2010 Vans Warped Tour. In 2013, Costello alongside New Years Day performed at Warped Tour like Andrew Velasquez and the rest of Crown the Empire. However, it was in 2015, that Costello and her band took the big leap, as they became a headliner on the summer’s Vans Warped Tour.

Adding to their achievement, their third album, ‘Malevolence’, was a major hit. It debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard rock chart and landed at No. 45 on the Billboard 200. More than a decade old, New Years Day over the years has had numerous additions to their band and several members have left it including the initiator Adam Lohrbach but Ashley Costello has remained a constant driving force of the band.

Ashley Costello is also a fashionista in the truest sense. One look at her and you sure would never be able to get her out of your mind – her oozing charisma, bold attires and sexy red-black hair makes her a diva. Costello’s love for fashion helped her roll out her own clothing line, Bat Royalty. In collaboration with Iron Fist Clothing, Bat Royalty has become one of the successful lines in fashion. Its inaugural edition was a sell-out in Hot Topics stores and online. Her clothes, just like her, have a sense of verve and dynamism to them.

Ashley Costello was born on February 21, 1985, in Anaheim, California. Not much is known about her personal life such as her family background, or her early life. Costello did her schooling from Loara High School, the same institution from where Gwen Stefani, her idol, received her education. Costello was excited to be enrolled at the same school as Stefani. Right from her childhood, Costello looked up to Gwen Stefani. She was hardly eleven when she first saw ‘No Doubt’. She adored Stefani not just for her singing capabilities but also the way she dressed. She hoped to recreate the magic someday and truly did.

Talking of her relationship status, Ashley Costello previously dated bandmate Nikki Misery before getting into a romantic relationship with Jimmy Trigger in August 2016. The couple got engaged in 2018, however, they parted ways before getting married. In 2020, she got married to Jered Boeving.
