Counted amongst world’s best batsmen, Virat Kohli is the former captain of Indian national cricket team. Under his captaincy, Indian cricket rose to great heights and he is the most successful Indian Test captain till date. He shot to fame when he led India’s Under-19 team to victory at the 2008 Under-19 World Cup. Since then, Virat Kohli has proved his talent in all forms of the game.

Referred to as King of Bollywood and King Khan in the media, Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan is considered one of the most successful film stars of the Hindi film indusrty. Beginning his career as a TV actor, he struggled for many years before making it big as a Hindi film star. 

Shikhar Dhawan is an Indian cricket player and one of the most important members of the current Indian cricket team. Known for his successful innings in ICC Tournaments, Dhawan helped India win their second ICC Champions Trophy, in 2013; he was the highest run-scorer in the tournament. He has also been an important player in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Indian actress Rakul Preet Singh started her career as a model and then graduated to films. She made her debut in a Telugu film in 2011 and then did a Tamil film in 2012. Three-time Filmfare Award-winner Shahid Kapoor has mesmerized his audiences with his versatile performances in Hindi films such as Jab We Met, Haider, Kaminey, Udta Punjab, and Kabir Singh. Despite having actor parents, Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem, Shahid had humble beginnings as a background dancer before he entered mainstream Bollywood.

Supreme Court lawyer and BJP leader Sushma Swaraj had held several ministries, such as external affairs and information and broadcasting. Named India’s “best loved politician” by Wall Street Journal, Swaraj was known for her prompt assistance to Indians in emergency situations abroad and was awarded the Padma Vibhushan posthumously.

Ajay Devgn, a two-time National Award winner, has also been honored with the Padma Shri. The son of stuntman Veeru Devgan, he began his career with the blockbuster hit Phool Aur Kaante. He later delivered stellar performances in films such as Dilwale and Zakhm, and now owns a production company.

A musical prodigy, Sunidhi Chauhan had started performing at events at age 4. Discovered by actor Tabassum, she quit school and plunged into a full-fledged music career, winning several reality shows. She then soared to fame with her playback singing in Mast and now has three Filmfare awards in her kitty.

Gauri Khan is an Indian film producer who co-founded the production company Red Chillies Entertainment along with her husband, Shah Rukh Khan. Also a well-known designer, Gauri Khan has designed spaces for renowned personalities like Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli, Mukesh Ambani, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Karan Johar. In 2018, she was named in Fortune magazine's list of 50 Most Powerful Women.

Though she initially aspired to be a singer, Raashi Khanna was also studious and later wished to become an IAS officer. She then worked as an ad copywriter for a while before making her film debut with Madras Café. She later soared to fame in the Tamil and Telugu film industries.

Noted for his performances in a range of film genres, Indian actor Saif Ali Khan is counted among the top actors in Bollywood. Even though he made his debut in the early 1990s, it took him many years to establish himself. His career saw a resurgence in the 2000s, and he went on to win critical praise for his work.

The daughter of legendary actor-director Aparna Sen, Konkona Sen Sharma is a two-time National Award-winning actor. She has impressed audiences with her performances in films such as Mr. and Mrs. Iyer and Wake Up Sid and has also delivered an award-winning directorial venture, A Death in the Gunj.

Deepak Chopra is an Indian-American alternative-medicine advocate and author. After emigrating to the United States in 1970, Chopra went on to become an important figure in the New Age movement. Credited with co-founding the Chopra Center for Wellbeing, Chopra is one of the wealthiest personalities in alternative medicine. He has also drawn criticisms, thanks to his tall and ridiculous claims.

Gulshan Kumar was an Indian film and music producer who founded the Super Cassettes Industries Limited (T-Series) music label. Born into a middle-class household, he started working as a young boy and helped his father in his audio cassette shop. He eventually launched his own music label. He was murdered by gangsters in 1997. 

Part of the influential Nehru-Gandhi political family of India and the son of former Indian prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi is the president of the Indian National Congress and an MP from Wayanad. A Cambridge alumnus, Rahul has briefly worked as a management consultant in London.

Maneka Gandhi is an Indian politician, environmentalist, and animal rights activist. She is credited with inspiring several individuals towards social entrepreneurship. Maneka Gandhi is best known as an animal rights leader for which she has received several international awards. She is also credited with establishing an animal welfare organization named People for Animals.

Emily Haines is a Canadian singer and songwriter who is the lead singer, songwriter, and keyboardist of the rock band Metric. She is a member of the indie rock band Broken Social Scene as well and also performs solo. She is the daughter of the poet Paul Haines and was encouraged to pursue her musical passion from childhood.  

Badshah is a singer, rapper, businessman, and film producer. Widely regarded as one of the highest-paid artists in India, Badshah is also considered one of the most controversial Indian rappers. His song Genda Phool is considered controversial, but is yet one of the most successful songs in Indian history. He has been featured thrice in Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list.

Initially a bodybuilder, R. Sarathkumar had won the Mr. Madras University title. After stints as a Dinakaran journalist and a travel business owner, he grew up to be the Supreme Star of Tamil movies, with films such as Ragasiya Police, and later also became an MP and launched his own party.

Initially part of the Indian National Congress, politician M. J. Akbar later joined the BJP. A leading journalist, too, he founded The Asian Age. The former Rajya Sabha MP and external affairs minister was dragged into a controversy when he lost a #MeToo defamation case against journalist Priya Ramani.
