Thomas Bradwardine was an English scholar, cleric, physicist, mathematician, and courtier. He also served as the Archbishop of Canterbury for a brief period of time. His theories on the insolubilia and work on kinematics had a significant influence on French philosopher Jean Buridan's works. His works, such as De Causa Dei, had an influence on the works of John Wycliffe.

Gregory of Rimini was one of the most recognized and greatest theologians and scholastic philosophers of the Middle Ages. He is credited with uniting the Parisian and Oxonian traditions in 14th-century philosophy. Such was the impact of his work, that the effects lasted late into the Medieval Period and Reformation. Many of his philosophical works influenced people like Pierre d'Ailly.

Known as the Lioness of Brittany, Jeanne de Clisson was born a noblewoman of France but later turned into a pirate. After her third husband, Olivier IV de Clisson, was executed for treason, she unleashed her terror upon the French royalty by killing the crew of French ships mercilessly.

Philotheus I of Constantinople was also a prolific writer. As a hymn writer, he is remembered for composing services in commemoration of Saint Gregory Palamas.
