





James Cracknell is a British athlete who specializes in rowing. With six World Rowing Championships and two Olympic gold medals under his belt, Cracknell is regarded as one of the most successful English rowers of his generation. He is also known for his charitable activities; in 2008, he raised funds for the BBC's Sport Relief charity.












Matthew Pinsent is an English broadcaster and former rower. Having won four successive Olympic gold medals in rowing, Pinsent is widely regarded as one of the most successful English Olympians of his generation. He also won 10 world championships during his illustrious rowing career. In 2005, Matthew Pinsent was honored by the International Rowing Federation with the Thomas Keller Medal.



Romanian rower Elisabeta Lipă scripted history when she became the most successful rower in the history of Olympics, with her 8 medals, including 5 gold medals. She was also the first rower to compete at 6 Olympic games and also served as the Romanian Minister of Youth and Sport.





Olaf Tufte is a Norwegian rower who won gold medals in the men's single sculls competition at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics. He also represented his country in the double sculls event at the 2000 and 2016 Olympics, winning the silver and bronze medal respectively. A two-time world rowing champion, Tufte also won a bronze at the 2015 European Championships.














Legendary British rower Jack Beresford is best known for winning five Olympic medals back-to-back. The son of a rower and an Olympic silver medalist, he had been part of the army during World War I. Though a talented rugby player, too, he took up rowing owing to a war injury.








Rebecca Romero scripted history by winning two Olympic medals in two different sports, rowing and cycling, thus becoming the second woman to achieve the feat, after swimmer and handball player Roswitha Krause. Initially a rower, she was later deviated toward cycling after suffering a severe back injury.
