Her parents are Aristotle's daughter Christina Onassis and her fourth husband, Thierry Roussel. She began riding horses as a child and is now a competitive showjumper. Following Christina Onassis’s death, Athina became her sole heiress.

Haya bint Hussein, daughter of King Hussein of Jordan, was the second wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Emirate of Dubai, before her much-publicized divorce. A skilled equestrian, she represented Jordan at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and has also headed the International Federation for Equestrian Sports.

Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten was also associated with the Swedish Olympic Committee, where he served as the president from 1933 until his demise in 1947.

Dutch-Indonesian model Annette Roque started her career under the pseudonym Jade Roque. She has also been the face of Revlon and is an equestrian who manages her own horse farm. She was in the news for her bitter divorce from TV journalist Matt Lauer, who was accused of sexual assault by multiple women.

She was named the world's youngest billionaire by Forbes for three consecutive years. Bill Roycroft was an Australian Olympic equestrian champion who won an Olympic gold medal in 1960. He learned to ride horses as a young boy and served in the army during World War II. He married a showjumper and trained his sons to ride horses as well. He then went on to participate in competitive events with his sons.


Zara Tindall is a British equestrian who won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She is the daughter of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips. She excelled at many sporting activities as a young girl and represented her schools in hockey, athletics, and gymnastics. She eventually chose to pursue an equestrian career.

She began competing at the tender age of five and qualified for the Horse Of The Year Show (HOYS) at just eight years old. She represented Great Britain in the European Championships in 2007.
