Willie Jones started out as a contestant on the 2nd season of ‘The X Factor’ in 2012. He surprised the judges as he sang "Your Man" during the audition round in Greensboro, North Carolina. He then went on to give a solo performance of "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" on the show’s Bootcamp 1 round. In the ensuing weeks, he dedicated the song "Nobody Knows" to Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato during the judges’ house round and was eventually selected by Lovato to participate in the live shows. On October 31, 2012, Jones performed for the first time on stage, in front of thousands of people. The following day, the country singer, along with another contestant CeCe Frey, was placed in the bottom two. The two competed again each other and Jones was eventually eliminated from the show.

Later Career

On August 3, 2013, Willie Jones embarked on the UneXpected Tour along with artists Paige Thomas, Jennel Garcia, and Lyric 145. He also recorded vocals as a guest artist for Lyric 145's "Suit & Tie" for the mixtape ‘The L.O.F.F. Tape.’ In December 2016, the American singer got featured in the reality show ‘Chasing Cameron’ that premiered on Netflix. He later toured with "MagCon" alongside stars like Aaron Carpenter, Cameron Dallas and Blake Grey.

Currently, Willie Jones is signed to Empire Records. In May 2018, he released his debut single titled "Runs in Our blood". He later shot the official music video for the song which was directed by Ryan Francis. This music video premiered on theboot.com and is currently available on YouTube.

Willie Jones also runs a YouTube channel, where he has a video called ‘Story Time with Willie Jones.’ This vlog is extremely funny and popular! The country singer has also been featured on the covers of many magazines, including ‘Paper’ magazine and ‘TigerBeat.’
