Suzanne J. Crough was born on March 6, 1963, in Fullerton, California, USA. She was the youngest of eight children born to Joseph Wilfred Crough and Anne Crough. At the age of seven, she landed an opportunity to play Tracy Partridge on ‘ABC’ network’s musical sitcom series ‘The Partridge Family.’ The series went on to become popular and Suzanne Crough became a household name in the United States. On October 17, 1970, she was featured on the cover of ‘TV Guide’ magazine.

She played Tracy from 1970 to 1974, appearing in 96 episodes of the series. ‘The Partridge Family’ received nominations at the ‘Grammy Awards’ (1971) and ‘Golden Globe Awards’ (1971 and 1972). Meanwhile, Crough also voiced Tracy Partridge in eight episodes of the famous Saturday morning animated series ‘Goober and the Ghost Chasers’ in 1973.

From 1974 to 1975, she once again voiced Tracy Partridge in 16 episodes of another Saturday morning animated series titled ‘Partridge Family 2200 A.D.’ Produced by ‘Columbia Pictures Television’ and ‘Hanna-Barbera Productions,’ the CBS-aired animated series was a spin-off of the live-action series ‘The Partridge Family.’

In 1976, she played a minor role in the Randal Kleiser-directed television movie ‘Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway.’ On March 13, 1976, she was once again featured on the cover of ‘TV Guide’ magazine. In 1977, she made a guest appearance in the Perry Rosemond-directed television film ‘A Thanksgiving Reunion with the Partridge Family and My Three Sons.’ In the same year, she was also cast to play Stevie Freedman in seven episodes of ‘NBC’ television network’s comedy-drama series ‘Mulligan's Stew.’

In 1978, she was seen playing a minor role in the famous sci-fi television series ‘Wonder Woman.’ In the same year, she also played Kim in the Taylor Hackford-directed short film ‘Teenage Father.’ The film won an ‘Oscar’ at the 1978 ‘Academy Awards’ where Crough was thanked by Taylor Hackford during his speech. In 1980, she was seen playing Kate in a television film titled ‘Children of Divorce’ which turned out to be her last acting role.

Life after Acting

Suzanne Crough quit her acting career in 1980 to focus on her education. After graduating from high school, she was enrolled at ‘Los Angeles Pierce College.’ She then owned and operated a bookstore in Temecula, California until 1993.

She made her television comeback in 1993 when she appeared as herself in one of the episodes of a TV series titled ‘John & Leeza from Hollywood.’ However, she never made her acting comeback as she preferred staying away from the limelight.

She started working as a manager at a shoe store in Nevada in the late 1990s. In 2000, she made an appearance in one of the episodes of a TV series documentary titled ‘VH-1 Where Are They Now?’

In 2003, she appeared as herself in another TV series documentary titled ‘Biography.’ In the same year, she was nominated for a ‘TV Land Award’ for her role in ‘The Partridge Family.’ She shared her nomination with her co-stars Danny Bonaduce, David Cassidy, Susan Dey, Brian Forster, Jeremy Gelbwaks, and Shirley Jones. The following year, she made a guest appearance in the popular talk show ‘Today.’ In 2006, she was once again nominated for the ‘TV Land Award’ for ‘Favorite Singing Siblings’ from ‘The Partridge Family.’

On March 2, 2010, she joined other actors from ‘The Partridge Family’ for a reunion interview on ‘The Today Show.’ During the show, Crough stated that she was working as a manager at the popular office supplies retailer ‘OfficeMax’ in Bullhead City, Arizona.

Family, Personal Life & Death

Suzanne Crough dated William D. Condray. She married him in July 1985 and the couple was blessed with two daughters, namely Alexandra Condray and Samantha Condray. Crough and Condray raised their daughters in Temecula, California. Samantha went on to serve the military, while William Condray is currently working as a lawyer in Bullhead City.

On April 27, 2015, Crough was found dead at her home in Laughlin, Nevada. Though the reason for her death was not immediately ascertained, Las Vegas police ruled out foul play and stated that her death was not suspicious. It was later confirmed by the coroner of Clark County that she died from a rare form of cardiomyopathy called ‘arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia’ (ARVD).

Many of Crough’s co-stars from ‘The Partridge Family’ paid tribute to her. Danny Bonaduce, who played Danny Partridge in the series, stated that Crough was a ‘wonderful lady’ and that she will be missed.

Before her sudden death, Suzanne Crough had mentioned in one of her interviews that she might make an acting comeback. She also said that she was waiting for her daughters to grow older as she didn’t want to miss her daughters’ childhood for her acting career.
