Ashley Rogers, better known as Ashleigh Aston Moore, was an American child actress popular for her role in the coming-of-age film ‘Now and Then’ as ‘Chrissy DeWitt’. She also appeared in the Canadian adventure-fantasy television series ‘The Odyssey’ as ‘Donna Archipenko’. Ashleigh wanted to be an actress since she was a kid and her mother tried her best to provide her with all the support she needed to become one. Moore began acting when she was just four and appeared in a series of commercials before moving on to television roles and films. She was considerably successful as a child actress. However, Moore didn’t continue acting for long and quit the field after just five years in the industry. She eventually moved to Canada to her family. The former child actress met a tragic end in 2007; she died of pneumonia and bronchitis at the age of 26.
Ashleigh Aston Moore started her career at a very young age and grabbed a lot of television commercials as a child model. She was just four years old when she got her first commercial and by the age of eleven, she had received her first role on television. Moore was offered the dual roles of ‘Alpha’ and ‘Donna’ in the children’s adventure-fantasy television show ‘The Odyssey’. She appeared in the show between 1992 and 1994, in a total of 37 episodes. During that time period, Moore appeared in three television films, ‘Liar, Liar’, ‘Family of Strangers’, and ‘Sin & Redemption’; in all three of these television films, she was credited as Ashley Rogers.
In ‘Liar, Liar’ (1993), she appeared as ‘Jean "Nini" Farrow’ and impressed the audience with her acting. For her role of ‘Megan’ in the television movie ‘Family of Strangers’ (1993), Moore won a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role at the Gemini Awards. In the next two years, Moore appeared in two television shows, ‘Madison’ and ‘Northern Exposure’, in guest roles.
Her next big break came in 1995, when she was cast in the coming-of-age film ‘Now and Then’ alongside Christina Ricci, Thora Birch, Melanie Griffith, Rosie O'Donnell, Gaby Hoffmann, and Demi Moore. She portrayed the character of ‘Chrissy DeWitt’ in the film. Even though the movie failed to receive many positive reviews from the critics, it was liked by the audience.
Moore again appeared alongside Christina Ricci in the 1995 adventure and drama film ‘Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain,’ where she played the role of ‘Tracy Briggs’. In 1996, she appeared in the thriller film ‘The Grave’ and also made an appearance in the television show ‘Strange Luck’ as ‘Heather Rehne’.
