Stacey Solomon is a British singer, TV host, and reality show star. She gained fame with her appearance in the sixth season of the talent hunt show The X Factor, in 2009. She eventually ranked third on the show, following which she and the other finalists of the show released a cover version of the track You Are Not Alone, which topped the UK Singles Chart. Stacey was also the winner of the 10th season of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! She released her debut album, Shy, in 2015. The following year, she started her stint as a panelist on Loose Women. A few other notable shows that have featured Stacey are The Love Machine, Top Dog Model, and The Crystal Maze. She has also hosted I'm a Celebrity: Extra Camp. She also earned success with songs like 'Driving Home For Christmas.'

Stacey’s father belonged to a Jewish family that had migrated to the U.K. and had roots in Iraq and Poland.

Her mother was the daughter of a vicar who belonged to the Church of England. She had converted to Judaism before getting married to Stacey's father.

Stacey’s parents divorced when she was just 9 years old.

Career

In 2009, Stacey appeared in an audition for the sixth season of the reality talent hunt show The X Factor, where she sang What a Wonderful World. She was placed on the list of the top 12 contestants on the show. Dannii Minogue was her mentor.

During her live shows, she sang the Coldplay song The Scientist. Her rendition of At Last earned her the highest number of public votes. Some of the other songs she sang on the show were When You Wish Upon a Star, Somewhere Only We Know, Son of a Preacher Man, Who Wants to Live Forever, and Michael Jackson's You Are Not Alone.

In the quarter-final round, Stacey sang Take That’s Rule the World and Elton John’s Something About the Way You Look Tonight. Her version of Michael Jackson’s The Way You Make Me Feel and the track Somewhere earned her a standing ovation from the judges.

Her rendition of the duet Feeling Good with Michael Bublé in the final week helped her earn the third spot in the contest, just behind the winner, Joe McElderry, and the runner-up, Olly Murs.

Following the show, she toured with the other X Factor finalists. In December 2010, she hosted the show from Essex. She and the other X Factor finalists charted at number 1 on the UK Singles Chart with the cover of You Are Not Alone.

Stacey Solomon started working on her first album in June 2011. On November 5, 2011, Stacey performed at and headlined the Paisley's Christmas Lights Switch On event. She rejected an offer to join the reality show The Only Way Is Essex.

She released debut single, a cover version of Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas, on December 19, 2011. The track was part of the Iceland Christmas promotional campaign. It was also featured at the 27th spot on the UK Singles Chart.

On November 29, 2013, Stacey led a choir of more than 110,000 school children. She was also part of the Young Voices tour, held in Birmingham, London, Sheffield, and Manchester, from January 14 to February 5, 2014.

Her debut album, Shy, was eventually released on April 18, 2015, under the label Conehead Records. The title track became quite popular, and the album peaked at number 45 on the U.K. charts. The following year, Stacey released her second single, My Big Mistake, which was also part of her debut album.

In December 2017, Stacey Solomon made a comeback to the 14th season The X Factor UK, as a co-host, along with George Shelley. While the main show was hosted by Dermot O'Leary, Stacey and George were featured in special episodes, to interview the families and friends of the finalists. Stacey returned to the show again the following year.

Stacey Solomon also appeared in the 10th season of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! After defeating Shaun Ryder in the final round, Stacey was crowned the "Queen of the Jungle.”

In 2011, she became a brand ambassador of the British supermarket chain Iceland, replacing Coleen Nolan. At the 16th National Television Awards, Stacey sang a duet with Shaun Ryder. Stacey also won the Living TV reality show Party Wars in October 2010.

Stacey presented Sing If You Can with Keith Lemon in April 2011. In September 2011, she appeared as Miss Solomon the Vicar in an episode of Sooty, titled The Wedding.

In March 2012, Stacey hosted the Sky Living dating show The Love Machine, along with Chris Moyles. The same year, she appeared in an episode of the ITV show Mad Mad World, along with Stephen K. Amos and Eamonn Holmes.

In September that year, Stacey appeared as part of the judging panel on the ITV2 show Top Dog Model.

In May 2014, Stacey sang the theme song of the Channel 5 children's program Pip Ahoy! She also voiced the character Fuchsia the Flamingo on the same show.

In February 2015, she appeared in the second season of The Jump but was eliminated on February 4.

The following year, she appeared a guest panelist on the ITV show Loose Women. She became a regular panelist on the show, along with Lisa Riley, after Jamelia and Vicky Pattison quit the show.

In September 2016, it was announced that Stacey would replace Laura Whitmore as the co-host of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! Extra Camp.

She won £60,000 in a special episode of The Chase in October 2016, competing with Anne Hegerty.

In June 2017, she was seen as a guest on the ITV2 show Love Island After Sun, which was a chat show associated with Love Island. Stacey also appeared in a celebrity edition of the Channel 4 show The Crystal Maze. In January 2018, Stacey appeared on the show And They're Off!, in support of Sport Relief

On October 11, 2018, Stacey established her own clothing range, in association with Primark. In February the following year, she announced in an episode of Loose Women that she would appear as a regular panelist on the ITV2 show Celebrity Juice.

Stacey Solomon has also written several books, such as Stacey: My Story So Far (2011), Walk on By: A Celebritease Novel (2015), Walk the Line (2015), and Happily Imperfect: Living Life Your Own Way (2019).

Personal Life

Stacey Solomon was 17 when she got pregnant by her then-boyfriend, Dean Cox. Her first child, her son Zachary, was born on March 21, 2008. Stacey and Dean broke up soon after the birth of Zachary.

On May 5, 2012, Stacey had her second son, Leighton, with her then-fiancé, Aaron Barnham.

Following this, Stacey and Aaron broke up. In 2015, she started dating Joe Swash. She had her first child with Joe, named Rex Toby Francis Swash, on May 23, 2019. The couple welcomed their second child named Rose in October 2021. In August 2022, the couple got married. In February 2023, the couple welcomed their third child together, a daughter named Belle. Joe has another son, Harry, from a previous relationship. 

Stacey has revealed that she suffers from anxiety. In October 2020, Stacey left her Essex house with her son Rex and her dog, Theo, in the middle of the night and went to her sister’s house. She revealed the following day that she had been scared of some strange noise in the house, as she was staying with Rex that night while her husband and the other kids were not at home.
