Rise To Fame
Sasha graduated in Media Studies from the University of Notre Dame du Lac, US. Following her graduation she began to look for acting assignments in both films and television. One of her initial acting pursuits includes featuring in the American soap opera ‘Love of Life’ that aired on CBS network. She was selected by director Frank Perry for the lead role in the 1972 American drama film ‘Play It As It Lays’ but Stallone, her fiancé, insisted her to stay back in New York to help him in typing screenplays.
She garnered considerable attention following her marriage with Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone who by that time had already performed in starring roles in a couple of films like ‘No Place to Hide’ (1970) and ‘The Lords of Flatbush’ (1974). The two tied the knot on December 28, 1974, an event that garnered immense media attention. After their marriage the couple relocated to California and on May 5, 1976, they were blessed with their first son, Sage Moonblood. In the years to come Stallone emerged as one of the heartthrobs of millions garnering worldwide fame as one of the most biggest superstars of Hollywood with films like ‘Rocky’, ‘Rambo’, ‘The Expendables’ and their respective sequels among other films. Among these Sasha worked as lead still photographer in the 1976 American sports drama film ‘Rocky’ that won three Oscars.
Sasha’s Second son, Seargeoh, born in 1979, was diagnosed with autism and thereafter Sasha became actively involved with the Autistic Foundation. She also retired as photographer after a while. Her marriage with Stallone took an unfortunate turn and after around 11 years of togetherness, the couple divorced on February 14, 1985. The divorce, which resulted in a payout of $12 million, one of the record payouts of that time, hit the headlines across the globe bringing Sasha to the limelight once again. The divorce also resulted in strained relation between Stallone and his sons. Sage, however, later worked in some films with his father that eased their relation to certain extent.
Sasha moved on and in 1996 she wrote and directed the short film ‘Long Lost Love’. The re-recording mixer of the short was Rick Ash who eventually married Sasha in 1997, but this marriage too was short-lived. Sage made his directorial debut with the American short film drama ‘Vic’ that released on January 1, 2006. The film saw Sasha featuring as Lilly. She also took up the camera after years for her son’s film where she worked as a still photographer. On July 13, 2012 she lost Sage who is believed to have succumbed to heart disease.
