Sarita Choudhury, born as Sarita Catherine Louise Choudhury, is an English actress. She is best known for appearing as Josette in the movie ‘The Perez Family’ and as Tara in the film ‘Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love’. She was discovered by the Indian-American filmmaker Mira Nair, who cast Choudhury in the movie ‘Mississippi Masala’, following which she has also acted in ‘The House of the Spirits’, ‘The Perez Family’, ‘Restless’, ‘A Perfect Murder’, ‘She Hate Me’, ‘Lady in the Water’, ‘Learning To Drive’, ‘Midnight's Children’ and ‘A Hologram for the King’. Besides these, she has appeared in the TV shows ‘Homicide: Life on the Street’, ‘100 Centre Street’, ‘Kings’, ‘Homeland’ and ‘Blindspot’. The English actress had also briefly modelled in London. Her contributions to the entertainment industry once earned her a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Sarita Choudhury first appeared as Meena in the 1991 movie ‘Mississippi Masala’. She then did the movies ‘Wild West’, ‘The House of the Spirits’, ‘Fresh Kill’, ‘Down Came a Blackbird’, ‘The Perez Family’ and ‘Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love’. In 1998, she was cast as Dr. Kalyani in the drama ‘Homicide: Life on the Street’. The same year, Choudhury appeared in the films ‘Restless’ and ‘A Perfect Murder’. A year later, she acted in the flick ‘Gloria’.
Then in 2001, she played the role of Julia Brooks in the drama ‘100 Centre Street’. Two years later, the English actress got featured in the movie ‘It Runs in the Family’. She was then offered the movies ‘She Hate Me’, ‘Lady in the Water’ and ‘The Accidental Husband’. Choudhury then played Preet in the flick ‘Entre nos’ in 2009. That year, she also played Helen Pardis in the series ‘Kings’. Soon after this, she was approached for the dystopian science fiction adventure movie ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’.
In the year 2011, the actress acted in the film ‘Azaan’. The same year, she acted in the drama ‘Homeland’ as well. Two years later, Choudhury appeared as Indira Gandhi in the movie ‘Midnight's Children’. She was then cast in the drama series ‘Blindspot’.
