Granville Whitelaw Pine, better known as Robert Pine, is an American actor famous for portraying the popular character of ‘Sgt. Joseph Getraer’ in the NBC crime drama television show ‘CHiPs’. He has appeared in over 200 television shows and films in his career so far, the majority of them being guest or special appearances. Apart from ‘CHiPs’, Pine has played notable roles in TV shows like ‘Black Scorpion’, ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’, and ‘Finding Carter’. He played guest roles in the TV series ‘Lost in Space’, ‘The Wild Wild West’, ‘Star Trek: Voyager’, ‘Beverly Hills 90210’, and ‘Match Game’. Over the course of his five-decade-long acting career, Pine has appeared in a handful of films as well. His memorable film roles were in the movies ‘Gunpoint’, ‘The Young Warriors’, ‘Journey to Shiloh’, and ‘The Day of the Locust’.

Career
Robert Pine began his journey in the show business in 1964 with the role of ‘Denny Wentworth’ in the television series ‘Kraft Suspense Theatre’. Since then, he has appeared in numerous television shows and films in his career. He made many special appearances during the 1960s and 1970s. Some of the shows he appeared in at the beginning of his career are ‘Wagon Train’, ‘Broadside’, ‘Run for Your Life’, and ‘Lost in Space’. He also appeared in films like Earl Bellamy’s ‘Gunpoint’, ‘Munster, Go Home’, ‘The Young Warriors’, ‘Journey to Shiloh’, and ‘The Counterfeit Killer.’
Pine later made several special appearances in TV shows like ‘The Virginian’ (multiple roles), ‘The Wild Wild West’ as ‘Lieutenant Murray’, ‘Gunsmoke’ (multiple roles), ‘Barnaby Jones’ (multiple roles), and ‘Insight’.
In 1977, Pine was signed for the role of ‘Sergeant Joseph (Joe) Getraer’ in the American crime drama television series ‘CHiPs’. The NBC drama was created by Rick Rosner and featured Larry Wilcox, Erik Estrada, Lou Wagner, Michael Dorn, Bruce Jenner, and Bruce Penhall among others. The show ran between 1977 and 1983. After his stint with the popular show, Pine appeared in ‘Magnum, P.I.’ as ‘Lieutenant Thomas Sullivan Magnum II ‘.
In the ensuing years, he appeared in the TV series ‘Ladies on Sweet Street’, ‘Matlock’, ‘California Dreams’, ‘Baywatch’, Prophet of Evil: The Ervil LeBaron Story’, ‘Murder, She Wrote’ (multiple roles), ‘Independence Day’, and ‘Star Trek: Voyager’. In the late 1980s, Pine was offered the role of ‘Stephen Logan’ in the television show ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’. He was part of the show for 57 episodes between 1988 and 2001. He also appeared in ‘24’, ‘Without a Trace’, ‘Joan of Arcadia’, ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’, ‘Red Eye’, ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘All I Want for Christmas’, ‘Castle’, ‘The Office’, and ‘The Mentalist’. Recently, Pine appeared in ‘Finding Carter’ and ‘Kaplan's Korner’.
